JonThompson Posted September 6, 2013 Posted September 6, 2013 I think they've just shown all the best bits.
Gatt Posted September 6, 2013 Posted September 6, 2013 I think they've just shown all the best bits. Thats the whole point of a trailer isn't it
featured_spectre Posted September 6, 2013 Posted September 6, 2013 I like the look, and that he has emotions. The first set of films were awesome, but lacked character depth.
mole Posted September 6, 2013 Posted September 6, 2013 Looks good, hope it has skull crushing graphic violence. It is Robocop afterall.
Dos_Box Posted September 6, 2013 Posted September 6, 2013 I think I've just burped a little bit of sick into my mouth after watching that. Mostly remakes annoy me (apart from Dredd), and remakes of 'classics' doubly so. The first Robocop was also a bit tongue-in-cheek, and this just seems to be hardcore sci-fi which will, IMO, lose a lot of it's original character. Also not happy about the family thing going on, In the original one of the main points of the film was they took someone (semi-legally) and turned him into a machine. This one reeks of a 'save my husband/daddy' sub-story which makes me very wary that they have spoilt the whole premise of the original.

gmj Posted September 6, 2013 Posted September 6, 2013 Looks…interesting. Not as bad as I feared….interested to know what it will be rated though. Still not keen on the black suit. My gut is telling me that is will be an entertaining action flick…but with non of the social commentary or satire of the original. Does look worth a go though (Plus liking the Robo voice).

Don't you mean the First film was brilliant - the others were just terrible. And the last one - well you can see the wires attached when he was flying !!

Agree - I bet there is no 'I'd buy that for a dollar' and of course the famous car ads... And remember.....we care. Edited September 6, 2013 by mattx
mattx Posted September 6, 2013 Posted September 6, 2013 I think this wraps this thread up quite well.
Vasriel Posted September 6, 2013 Posted September 6, 2013 The first thing that popped into my head when watching it was why is his right hand not armour protected?
gmj Posted September 6, 2013 Posted September 6, 2013 Yeah! The hand thing is bugging me too...just looks wrong! Guessing its a reference to the whole "Saving the Arm" thing in the original?
Miscbrah Posted September 6, 2013 Posted September 6, 2013 Didn't they (almost) save the left arm in the original? Better go watch it tonight to make sure.
gmj Posted September 6, 2013 Posted September 6, 2013 Yeah think it was the left...but Bob Morton tells the techs to "lose it". Dang, I love that film.
mattx Posted September 6, 2013 Posted September 6, 2013 I've just watched the trailer again - they are going to ruin a classic.
d0pefish Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 You want ruined? Go watch "Almost Human" - A new American show (fairly new) with the premise of cops being paired with androids. Imagine Robocop, Terminator, AI, Total Recall and all the other old sci-fi movies put in a bucket, shook up, crapped on and this is the result.
