I have a friend in Birmingham looking for an IT job but what does Grade 5 mean in real money?

That would suit me down to the ground as it's exactly what I do now, in fact it's actually less than i do now but more remuneration and line management looks interesting as they are recruiting your line manager also,

 

I took note of the person specification for both roles and it made me laugh at how little was required for the post of Assistant HT and yet the Strategic ICT manager was written across 2 pages of A4!

 

Only difference was degree and teaching qualification, could have put in for both if I had PGCE as I have everything else, if it wasn't so far away...................never mind suppose I will just have to soldier on hehe!

If I were closer I'd go for that as it's pretty much what I'm doing here (but on about £10K less) too. Sadly I'm not closer though, so ho-hum.

 

Having said that, this is the sort of role I'd typically associate with being on the SLT itself and taking all the responsibility at that level on board.
