Sharing school photos - how do you do it?

So we need to distribute our prom photos to the leavers. We don't really want to 'bandy' them about the internet.

 

How do you all share yours? We have them on the network, but of course, a lot of students have left so not the best location.

 

(Hope this is in the right section - please move it mods if I got it wrong!)

Professional photographer who charges no fee for the night but puts them online on their website for the pupils to order direct.

Yes we had one of those as well - seems the best way.

 

But one of the teachers took a lot as well and wants to share them.

Put them onto a CD or DVD as and when requested and could say 30p per disc or provide a pen drive or better still show the teacher how to do it.

Do you not have a VLE that you can put them on for the students to access?

You say you don't want to "bandy" them around the internet, but as soon as the kids have them they will be all over facebook, twitter etc. We have a album module on our VLE and just stick them in there.

I agree TronXP but our VLE is very underused unfortunately. I think we will just put them on the website, then the kids can do what they want with them.

 

Need to think ahead next year though to an easier solution as they have left school now so not easy to let them know where to access them.

A Flickr gallery is where we put any we took kids can then do as they like with them

Only way to fix an underused VLE is to make people use it by putting stuff on there... If they have no reason to log in and use it, it will inevitably be underused.

If you printing off yourself easiest way is when year 11 pick up there exam results give them the photos then!

if not collected on the day send them out with the certificates

that's how we do it plus it gives you loads of time to get the images edited

Google picasa Online. Its free and secure. You can also use elements such as the slide show in your own schools website.
