Dont see film but instead wear a (borrowed) crash helmet and beat him to within and inch of his life. Try to catch the ending of the film. Do try to see the film so that you can explain the story should anyone ask. Return helmet. Without proof or positive identification, plod cant do anything. Sometimes, the old ways are the best. (alternatively get a friend to do the deed and watch the film.) ANPR would record the car travelling to/from the cinema at odd times. Cinema booking systems will also record a late collection time and cinema CCTV would record someone entering the film late.
DanielRF Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 I would take a lot of care in your camera placement, as you wouldn't want your neighbours to make a formal complaint regarding an invasion of privacy etc. especially if the camera isn't mounted on your property. Is their someone (or company/committee) who is responsible for the car parks maintenance? Maybe you could make a case for a new combination lock to go on the car park gates which everyone can know the code to (and more importantly can be given to the emergency services over the phone), and maybe some security lights and/or cameras.
happymeal Posted June 7, 2013 Author Posted June 7, 2013 Tempted to dob him in as Al-Qaeda's Tubby English Brigade... we did have a problem with one of the flats with a certain drug user who was very unpleasant. Various anon calls were made about his dealing/using (Wasn't 100% sure) - then the police did a raid a few days later and found a nice sizable stash. Haven't seen him in a year. At the moment there's only 4 flats at the back enterance - once has a camera trained on his front door as he's a nasty piece of work and he's upset a lot of people (Came home one night and found two people kicking his door and threatening him) - so I can't see any problems with me popping a camera up. I spent an hour having a look around the car park and surrounding areas to find a nice concealed spot to place it and where it'll give me a good view and found about 2-3 places. The favourite is on the college building next to us (It's a bungalow next to our building).

Erm I ordered the camera, and then realised I has nowhere to set it up - I ended up setting the camera up on the corner of out flat, then some little twonk smashed it to pieces. I got a smug look off him the next day as he then tried to blame the locals (we live in a muslim community - I get on just fine with them, so that didn't add up). I got back last week from TA around 1am, went into the flat and remembered to get my stuff from the car. Came back out 5 mins later to find him sniffing around the car - told him very promptly to go forth and fornicate at great speeds, and told him there was another camera watching the car. He's not done anything to it since, but he did move the large over-flowing bin next to my car before bin-day so it wouldn't be collected. So I ended up with a large smelling pile of crap over the hot week - half of which was "spilt" in front of his flat doorway, the rest made it back out to the street. He has tried a few things to a few residents - one guy did respond by filling his top lock with insulation foam and poured air-fix cement stuff into his bottom lock. That got a giggle. He stormed round asking if it was me, and I said it was either one of the other residents "or the locals". 1

It's looked after by Places for People - I did ring them when the padlock thing first started and they said it's not their padlock, so they had zero interest in a padlock that wasn't theirs. I did ask about them issuing one, but they said there was no need as it's a low-crime-risk area...
