Reporting is due a major re-develop this year and there is a pause button coming for the realtime stuff, well its all changing and becoming interactive so you will be able to add / remove columns etc.... :)

I know the Help is also being worked on as that was mentioned on here the other day by @AMLightfoot who is involved in that area I believe and will have more shinyness to it

The menu structure is one that you either love or hate, I was never a big fan of the side menu but got used to it but once your using it it becomes second nature.

Good stability so far as well, been up 7 days with no problems so far.

The first box we had crashed after about 5 days use but I was told this is not normal behavior and was probably a hardware problem. We RMA'd the box and no problems since.

Just picking up on some things you said.

Noise: There is a method of setting the fan speeds to automatic rather than FLAT out as default. You have to connect a keyboard and montor to the box and piss about in the bios i belive. I was told about this By my assistant tech that used to install these boxes into primary school when he used to work for the LA. Often they were in staffroom so the noise was a big issue.

Guardian: Somthing that is this powerful ends up being alittle complicated. It does turn out to be logical once you've live with it for a year or so

i found the location of stuff is very logical once you know where it is, sometimes its a little frustrating trying to find something you've never used or setup once if you are trying to troubleshoot under pressure because something isn't working.

The Online help itself is not currently under revamp (to the best of my knowledge) although I know our documentation team are starting to include more screenshots. The bit I'm working on and the bit I'm super-excited about is our online resources - the knowledgebase, youtube videos and other searchable resources customers can use to get quick answers to questions. I was in a meeting about it today and every time someone talks about it I get really excited.

Thanks for the review... much appreciated that you took the time.

There is a massive feature missing which is to type in a username and site to check if its filtered or not form the front page dashboard. This is present on virtually every other filter so why doesn't smoothwall have it?

Underway now - for those of you who don't know, you can track the progress of this project on uservoice. As john said, reporting is getting an update, and there'll be a dedicated reporting team continuing work on that going forward.
