Is there a decent list of hosted anti-spam solutions. And also self-hosted solutions? ( I'd rather not do a raw spamassasin install though!) I'm looking for a few different options to offer customers.

they have fixed the yast/ncurses bug. which meant you had to reboot at least once after installation or the yast curses display was garbage

SUSE is my goto for servers especially LAMP stacks. i tend to use mint with KDE for desktops. that might suit you (sir).

Turned out to be an iffy sata lead...... PHPMyadmin is broken though...... install it using yast and then download the latest tarball and drop the contents in /srv/www/htdocs/phpMyAdmin

I have a number of web based services that run on LAMP. I need to tie the logins together, so users only have to login to one service or a main authentication service and then they are logged into all other services.... one example is osticket. another is magento. I don't modifying osticket or developing a plugin for magento but i don't want to do the whole thing from scratch is there something opensource thats good that handles the main authentication?

I wonder if the VDA guest driver is broken in 13.1, the vms that break are kvm guests. i created some vmware guests and they don't break.

Oh and PHPMyadmin is broken in this release,.

I've been using Suse for years. love it....... yast is epic for configuration and it runs in a console over ssh Now this might be concidence but i upgraded a vm 12.3 to 13.1 ------ file system corruption within a week. and then built a new vm and again file system corruption with in a few days....... it might have been the hosts fault. just be aware of it in case something weird happens and let me know if it does..... Fedora was too buggy for my liking. but i didn't really look at it much ..

give the client its own IP but set its DNS to be the DC. then it will join the domain..... also go to the DC and Load DNS manager setup your broadband router as a forwarder or you probably won't be able get internet access.

a little bit iffy on a suse guest as well, network carried on working..... but iwas scp'ing from the SUSE guest to a web site host far far away in a datacenter somewhere and it would drop the scp connection about half way through...... scp the file to the VM's host and then to the web site, transfered first time........

I need to convert some ODTs to HTML. then do some additional processing after conversion..... the additional processing i can handle via perl.... but i can't get libreoffice to convert via the command line soffice --convert-to htm:HTML --outdir ./result ./convert/mydoc.odt no output file, no error nothing?

I try not to, but needs must sometimes...........

I suspect its the windows 8/server 2012 drivers.. as thinking about it I didn't have any problems with linux VMs .it might be worth checking for windows updates etc.. Centos isn't really an option (this is my desktop) I'd rather put up with it then use centos as a desktop..... I know where your coming from, certain under the hood can be a little flakey. (The idea of ubuntu server doesn't fill me with confidence, if it was a proper server it would be centos or suse)

I have KVM on a linux mint (KDE) 15 machine, so basically ubuntu for the purposes of troubleshooting The VMs have lost their networking a few times.. it was happening quite a lot when using VIRTIO nics. so i swapped them for realteks. its not happening so much but its happened again now... You at least have to kill the VM and restart.. ifdown / ifup on the host of eth0 or br0 doesn't fix it. I actually rebooted the host this time as i needed to physically move it. ----------------------------------- I would rather keep using KVM than VMware workstation as it workstation tends to throw a fit every now and again and thrash the disk endlessly for no apparent reason....
