My daughter is just finishing her second-year project at Uni. She is studying product design/engineering at Brighton.

Her remit was to make something that would help either her or someone close to her.

She has a hearing problem - especially when there is background noise and so she has designed and built a device that will flash when a sound is detected by it - and it will show from which direction the sound is coming from.

She is struggling for a name. Some suggestions include SeeHear, HearHere, Light'n'Sound, Light'n'Larm as well as names that don't have any connection to the function such as Emerald or Cuttlefish

Has anyone got any sensible suggestions for names?

Thanks

AudioPoint?

Sounds pretty good. Has my +1

Also props to your daughter. That sounds like a very helpful device for those hard-of-hearing. Quick, get the patent office on the phone!

I thought it was a good idea and could be useful for people sitting at their computer wearing headphones too!

I have sent the ideas so far - I like AudioPoint and cSound very much

Audivisible; alternatively, Visaudible

(the latter is less likely to be confused for a new Audi car, and is a syllable shorter so easier to say)

LookHear (pretty similar to SeeHear / cHear)

Similiarly, OverHear - the whole here/hear pun is a rich vein of possiblity

I will probably come up with more & better ideas through the day, and will update when I do...
