Easiest way to do this...?

I've got 60 pictures to go on our TV system, they're all 4000x3000 or bigger and i need them all to play in sequence...short of uploading 700mb of images or faffing about trying to put them into one powerpoint (which would no doubt mean messing around resizing them) can anyone recommend a really quick way of sticking 60 jpg images into a sequence like a video file or something without having to worry about resizing them etc?

Also, I use Office Picture Manager to resize images. It works reasonably well and can do lots of images at once. [Though the saving is a pain when doing a lot...]

have a look at irfan view but id be empted to batch resize the images to something a little less ultra hd

Use something like FastStone resizer to batch resize as appropriate to a new folder. Then in Powerpoint 2010 Insert - Photoalbum and select the folder, which will put each pic. on a separate page. You can then export the presentation as a video file to play on the TV.

PowerPoint will import the images and resize them to fit the slides, then you can compress all the images automatically before saving.

We use PowerPoint here too for this purpose. Nice and simple, but it works.

Either write your own Javascript to load them up one by one, or use Microsoft Photo Story to produce a video file.

If the file names are in the correct sequence, won't Preview play a slideshow of photos in a folder in the correct order?

if its jpegs it just slideshows them same way that powerpoint would but with next to 0 setup can even be scripted so you logon it displays pics until the end of time

Windows Photo Story would do it as well. Not sure if there is an item limit though. It would put them all together with whatever slideshow effect you want and exports as a video file or alternatives. Download Photo Story 3 for Windows from Official Microsoft Download Center

If you can get it to install on Windows 7 its not create bit glitchy.

I teach powerboating and when I show students the knots I always say "I bet you that when the other instructors see how you tie a bowline, they will offer to show you an easier way".

 

I'd forgotten that modern TVs allow you to run slideshows, our displays tend to be a mix of text and images with a degree of animation (all in the best possible taste), so Powerpoint fits the bill nicely.

id not seen the tv bit and assumed there was an old pc plugged into it as well.

I don't see why your way won't work with the jpegs, I'm not sure how much control you would get in the transitions though.
