I recommend buildcraft engines (of any description) plus thermal expansion powered furnace/pulveriser/sawmill. You can quite easily semi-automate them using the machines configuration (auto eject pulverised ore into the powered furnace, use buildcraft hoppers, chests, pipes for input/output).

So, after making a pump and 4 redstone engines, i found out the falling lava (not the source, the waterfall of lava) drains the actual source, thus i ran out of lava. If you kinda understand... lol Not to mention, a fricking lava fabricator is TOTALLY USELESS, in which i found out a diamond pickaxe gets destroyed in lava :/ (fell in instead of throwing dirt lol). So..... i'm stuck with a iron tank of lava, on very low.

Thinking of nether transport, got 2 ender chests, but need help?

Gah updated my client and the previous versions don't seem to work for me either :(

Edit : never mind version 1.1 :)

Right, just starting it up now. Updated to whatever the latest version is of FTB Ultimate.

Also, I've moved the world files to a ramdisk, and reduced the memory assigned to the server a little.

Hi localzuk. Any room on the server for a bit of an edu-lurker? I'm completely new to FTB, so I promise I won't bog the server down with fancy contraptions. I teach using MinecraftEdu which has recently added support for a wider range of mods, so learning for myself how to use fancy gizmos will help me build better maps for the kids. Cheers. Oh, my Minecraft name is MrThom.

Right, I've set up a mumble server too - its at the same address (default port). So if anyone wants to voice chat, feel free. There's not a lot set up in it at the moment - just a single channel.

Server join password is Edugeek.

Backups run every 12 hours, and I keep a month's worth :) (Only because I'm too lazy to figure out a decent command to delete all but the last 5 or so, and they're named by date soo...)

Can anyone connect? I'm getting an error about missing ID mismatches...

I derped. Its working now. :)

Config files were wrong on the server...

Also, its version 1.1.2 now, not 1.1.1.

Chunk Loaders don't crash any more.

Is this something a Minecraft n00b can jump right into? Did some Googeling on it and it looks pretty cool. :)

However I have never played Minecraft.

your not forced into anything from the start, can play it like vanilla till you want to do the more complex things. Then its just lots of wiki reading and watching letsplays helps.

One of the main benefits of playing on a server is that you can look at other peoples setups and ask them about them. Also jumping into single player creative mode is very handy for avoiding expensive mistakes.

You can play at your own pace. Feel free to join. You'll need to buy minecraft though :)
