squeeky Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 (edited) can you add me if there is space. Do you guys have a teamspeak or similar to go with your server ? I have a tekkit server but was looking at setting up survival games on my spare dedicated server so we could have an unofficial edugeek champion. However the config is so damn complicated im not sure i can be bothered Edited April 3, 2013 by squeeky
localzuk Posted April 3, 2013 Author Posted April 3, 2013 Not got a TS server or anything - I've never understood the need for such things. What's your minecraft username?
localzuk Posted April 3, 2013 Author Posted April 3, 2013 (edited) PM Sent. That goes for anyone else too - give me a shout if you want access (but bear in mind that it isn't a free-for-all, so if you haven't been around on here for a while, you won't be getting on). lynchberg Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 I'd love to jump on i've been playing a lot of local but would be great to get on a server - lynchberg82
bushby Posted April 8, 2013 Posted April 8, 2013 yes i noticed the rabbit the other day but then it got caged but it was only the one i found the rest must be in the cave system some where still finding more to that place
CAM Posted April 8, 2013 Posted April 8, 2013 To my anonymous benefactor... thanks for the radio Reminds me, not got round to logging in yet. Sidetracked by other games. >.<
MrEprise Posted April 8, 2013 Posted April 8, 2013 I'd love to jump on i've been playing a lot of local but would be great to get on a server - lynchberg82 Unfortunately, as much as I hate to say so, you've only just registered therefore its not likely to happen. As Localzuk has plainly said, you need to have been around here for a while (i.e. registered for a while and actively participating here a fair bit) before you'd be allowed on.
localzuk Posted April 8, 2013 Author Posted April 8, 2013 Remind me not to put rabbits everywhere in future. They're gonna be bugging me for ages :-P
LiamH Posted April 8, 2013 Posted April 8, 2013 Welp I beat the "game" downed the enderdragon today, there is a linking book to the end in my base if anyone wants to go on a mass enderman killing spree. Moved my boiler onto blaze rods, got more now than I know what to do with. Built a fully automated peat bog farm only to find deployer's are borked in FTB, have to have a think about how to do it, might use a turtle.
bushby Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 @LiamH i power every thing on blaze rods im moving them to barrels now just to the shear amount im getting/got. and the end is open.... MORE BEES XD
CAM Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 I tried to play but Minecraft is being really really unstable. First it ran out of memory then came up Java socket timeout.
localzuk Posted April 9, 2013 Author Posted April 9, 2013 What spec is the PC you're running it on? FTB is a lot more resource hungry than vanilla minecraft.
MrEprise Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 I'd say the connection to the server is being rather unstable at the moment. When I can connect it keeps chucking me off a few seconds later then minecraft tells me the server can't be reached. It's been doing this for about the last 5-6 hours at most. Previous to this it has been fine.
localzuk Posted April 9, 2013 Author Posted April 9, 2013 Oh, didn't realise. I'll pop on and give it a kick.
localzuk Posted April 9, 2013 Author Posted April 9, 2013 Will look at setting up a nightly reboot after the backup, as there's obviously some memory leak fun here.
CAM Posted April 10, 2013 Posted April 10, 2013 Vanilla Minecraft was dying for me too. Turns out even though Java 64-bit isn't recommended on Win 8, it has to be used or Java 32-bit over-allocates memory and crashes Minecraft. And the sound system needed new OpenAL dll's installed. Now that this is all set up I have no idea if this will work with FTB as I need to keep a mod-free install aside with my OpenAL patches.
localzuk Posted April 10, 2013 Author Posted April 10, 2013 You should be able to run the 2 side by side, as they keep their own instance files separate.
localzuk Posted April 10, 2013 Author Posted April 10, 2013 Nope, it creates a new folder for each modpack in the same directory as the launcher.
