Garacesh Posted April 15, 2013 Posted April 15, 2013 To my anonymous benefactor... thanks for the radio Oh, so that was yours? Drove me crazy trying to find it. Eventually did and turned it off Didn't make much of a difference, I was just walking over your pit and heard the music and decided to try and find it xD ... I suspect in posting that my abode will likely get a few now, too xD All you lot and your bloody automated blaze farms and nether barrels and your playstation and your ... I've only just gotten solar panels!
localzuk Posted April 15, 2013 Author Posted April 15, 2013 Lol, don't worry, I only just got an enchanting table!
Garacesh Posted April 15, 2013 Posted April 15, 2013 Oh, then the radio I turned off wasn't yours, it was whoever lives in the hobbit hole with the blaze farm
bushby Posted April 15, 2013 Posted April 15, 2013 i have a radio now? thats new to me. iv been playing on my test server with some Computer craft codeing to build stuff then its back on for me
Garacesh Posted April 15, 2013 Posted April 15, 2013 If the hobbit hole's yours (I forget who's who!) then yes. It's turned off, though. It's on a marble beam above the giant pit.
LiamH Posted April 15, 2013 Posted April 15, 2013 I may have provided a few people with the joys of endless portal music... a-hem
Geoff Posted April 16, 2013 Posted April 16, 2013 (edited) So that was you! @localzuk any chance of Dynmap? Edited April 16, 2013 by Geoff
Sunnyknight Posted April 18, 2013 Posted April 18, 2013 I found something interesting last night... something i'll never, ever, ever, ever, ever... well maybe once do again. Put 20 blocks between each of your 10 nukes. See what happens... P.s. Don't stand too close, AND SAVE FIRST lol (something i forgot to do, DOH). Looks kinda cool when finished though. lol
Geoff Posted April 19, 2013 Posted April 19, 2013 Have you tried mining with nukes? dig down to layer 30 or so, then plant the nuke and run. You'll have a nice 20 block wide spherical cavern to exploit.
localzuk Posted April 19, 2013 Author Posted April 19, 2013 I once did that to create an underground base. It's one of the reasons I've disabled nukes on the server.
Geoff Posted April 19, 2013 Posted April 19, 2013 Well that and the server would get upset about the amount of block updates (ramdisk fixed that for me though!).
localzuk Posted April 19, 2013 Author Posted April 19, 2013 Well that and the server would get upset about the amount of block updates (ramdisk fixed that for me though!). Indeed. Although, it is running on an SSD so should handle it pretty well. The other reason is the potential for griefing - intended or accidental. Someone decides to go mining with nukes, and accidentally blows up someone's hidden subterranean base etc...
Geoff Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 (edited) I broke the server with an unstable mystcraft cave world age. Edit: Seems to of recovered now. Edited April 20, 2013 by Geoff

Accidently did that once when nukes were available, the ragetyping didn't stop for a good few hours. I guess 'Sorry i didn't expect this much AoE' didn't cut it.
DMcGuigan Posted April 22, 2013 Posted April 22, 2013 I well and truly killed a hosted server for over an hour until I finally killed the server and started a new world. Needless to say they've now been disabled, and I'm never building a statue out of them again!
Geoff Posted April 22, 2013 Posted April 22, 2013 On my server I just set the blast damage to 0 for nukes. So you can use them, but nothing happens
Garacesh Posted April 22, 2013 Posted April 22, 2013 I want a nuclear generator now ;_; but I've not even build my new floating house. Still planning it and doing twelve other things at once. I also need to make a new industrial centrifuge because I tried to move mine and it destroyed it and gave me machine casing or something like that. D'oh!
Geoff Posted April 22, 2013 Posted April 22, 2013 That reminds me, I was the last person on last night and I heard something going bang. I checked and none of my stirling engines had over heated so I guess someone else left something running? @Garacesh when you say 'floating' do you just mean built in the sky or are you actually using RP2 frames to inchworm around?
Garacesh Posted April 22, 2013 Posted April 22, 2013 Just built in the sky (Too much Bioshock Infinite, methinks!) but if there's a way to actually make it move, I'm certainly open to that idea
Geoff Posted April 22, 2013 Posted April 22, 2013 Put the whole thing on RedPower2 Frames. You can then move it with frame motors.

Garacesh Posted April 22, 2013 Posted April 22, 2013 Put the whole thing on RedPower2 Frames. You can then move it with frame motors. Does that include all blocks attached to it? Or above it? Or is it more like pistons where it just moves the 1 block it targets?

Garacesh Posted April 22, 2013 Posted April 22, 2013 Did not know that was possible.. Might have to..
