rama1712 Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 I am trying to use the smtp server on live@edu for or moodle server and other bit around the school. We are a Webanywhere school. and have had them look at them problem and they say it is a problem at MS end at to contact them. But i was wondering if anyone else had any thoughts ideas. Problem is SMTP does not work beacuse "The problem is that when we the RCPT TO part of the message is sent to the SMTP server, it sees the upper-case R and immediately renegotiates the connection. As a result, none of the messages actually get sent. There are flags that can be set when running the program (-quiet or -ign_eof) but we can't run them from our end, they'd have to be run internally." I have rasied a support call to MS but they have not come back yet. Or is there any other way we can use another FREE SMTP relay server Stuart Purvis
jamesbmarshall Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 There are a couple of pages that might help: How to set up an SMTP relay in Office 365 How to enable on-premises applications and devices to send mail to Office 365 users These apply to Office 365, but may be valid for Live@edu. Alternatively, you could run your upgrade to Office 365 Education and then they'd definitely apply!
