Bring Your Own Devices

Hi there everyone,

 

We are going to look at the possibility of "Bring Your Own Devices" just wondering how people manage the devices, if or what software they use?

 

Has anyone has any experiences of the pros and cons of this?

We have a BYOD scheme for Sixth Form, they get a form filled in and approved by member of the Sixth Form Team (basic house rules and stating if staff feel your messing and not using the BYOD to enhance your studies etc then we will revoke access). This is then given to my team and we approve them for the BYOD network, they connect to that and authenticate against Active Directory. Its a seperate VLAN thus keeps them at bay and Smoothwall provides filtered and logged internet and does Zone Bridging to allow them to access the VLE, Email, Files etc... through the system and all works very well I have to say. The IOS6 issues are a pain and wish that would never have happened but other than that all seems fine and dandy
