Hi,

Does any one have any views on using RDP on an iPad(possibly an Android as well) with windows 8. I am thinking of setting up a terminal server with windows 8 as the OS to enable students get access to some of the curriculum resources based on the main network. I think I've got the security angle covered but the RDP client is challenging me. I would like the touch system to work if possible. @SYNACK has suggested that the FX would work but now I'm into testing mode.

Cheers

RemoteFX probably won't work via iPads or even android, from what I have seen their rdp clients are quite primative or quite expencive and are very unlikely to support it. You're probably good for everything but video, tablet clients are not that good.

Should be fine for apps though.

2X is an excellent RDP client that works awfully well, and is free! I use it at home to access my media centre on the occasions I need to reboot it/perform housekeeping etc. :)

As long as you don't need a gateway or RemoteApp...

Or rdp to w7 without half the security (nla) off. Jump desktop free works for one station with remotely modern security settings but its ui is horrible in actual use.

I use iTap and Pocketcloud on my iPAD on a windows 2008 TS.

I wouldn't recommend it for long periods of time unless you look at getting a bluetooth or something similar, but certainly it works when ever I need to logon quickly.

We are trying to use RDP on our iPad's for staff on our network, but it will only work when they are a member of domain admins. anyone know what needs to be allowed on a normal account for them to access this without them being domain admins?

Thanks
