Recommended Dyslexia / Screen Tint Software

I am after recommendations for a suitable Screen Tint software (free or otherwise) that is compatible and easily usable (and deployable) on Windows 7+ Computers.

 

We have tested a 'free' version of one, but it is limited to only working within MS Office applications, but not through certain web browsers etc.

Not directly answering your question (interested myself) but a couple of dyslexic members of staff have asked about fonts and themes for their browser. OpenDyslexic theme for Chrome works quite well!

I could have done with this years ago when my eyes were sensitive and I had to wear tinted lenses, which were awkward with screens... not used it myself, but just Googled and found this - TintMy Screen | Software to improve your reading performance

SSOverlay part of the MyStudyApps suite from dyslexia lincolnshire is very easy to use, you literally run the executable and adjust the colour and intensity to suit from the icon in the notification area.

Oh that is *awful*. Barely any of it works and the Sonar thing just locks the mouse out! Shame, it looked rather useful.

Do you have Intel graphics drivers? They have the capability of changing screen tint through the utility that comes with it.

You could take a look at the Better living through tech website, I've had a quick look and the information is a bit basic, but generally that is what you want when you are making changes for end users...the less complicated the better.

 

I've also used Screen Tinter light which I think was freeware and just used change the background colour of your applications but that was a few years ago now and I don't know if has been updated. From a bought product I've used Text Help Read & Write, but that might be a bit overkill for just a basic screen tinting software.

I've just gone round the houses doing this and we've picked ssOverlay since it actually tints the whole screen.

 

The others just make it easier to fiddle with windows themes, which most apps ignore with regard to colour palette.
