Shadow Volume Copy and Hidden Share

I've set up shadow volume copy and it's working fine

I also want to set up previous versions of users "my documents" currently in a profile$ hidden share.

however as it's hidden it doesen't seem to work...

anyone any ideas?

Don't hide it?

 

Also, you did distribute the shadow copy client MSI to your XP machines via AD didn't you?

The root of my home directories are in a hidden share and its works ok for. Unless Im missing something?

This is for a roaming profile?

 

Shadowing won't take any effect. A roaming profile stores all of the files on the local machine and synchronises any changes made to the profile server at logoff. If you want shadowing to work for a user's My Documents folder you'll have to put in a folder redirection rule to their user areas.

 

Or have I got the wrong end of the stick?
