Hi I had an issue this morning on a teacher machine connected to a Smartboard SB660. Yesterday I had to uninstall Notebook 11.1 and put Notebook 10.8 back on her machine due to glitches with the Smart Ink plugin in Word and other issues. I also upgraded her browser to IE9 as part of a rolling upgrade. When she uses Espresso, there is a lag between what she sees on her computer screen and what she sees on the Smartboard. The Smartboard doesn't update the image until she taps the Smartboard surface then it works fine until she changes to another page in Espresso and the same thing happens. It didn't do this in IE8 yesterday apparently and she doesn't have any lag problems flicking between pages of a Smart Notebook file or other flash based websites such as PhonicsPlay or Teachyourmonsterstoread.com I have updated her Flashplayer to the latest version. The PC is an all in one and the board is usb connected and projector gets its image through a USB to VGA convertor. Also this problem doesn't occur when using Chrome. There is no lag between the PC image and the board image. Any suggestions?

Hi All I understand and have seen on a previous thread with regards to ie10 not setting proxy settings via group policy etc. Can anyone try and talk me through how to get this up and running? We're using windows server 2008r2 will this affect computers that are still running ie9? Haven't done much before with regards to group policy and registry editing etc, so want to make sure i get it right. Thanks for any help

Windows 7 Client Server 2008 R2 It was hard to come up with a title for the thread as i have went around in circles for 2 days now. Student user has a basic mandatory profile. Log it on, on a fresh image. Every GPO is working fine. Internet, all fine and loads everything fine. Log off. Log back on again and HTTPS sites stop working. Everything looks fine in Internet Options. SSL 3.0 enabled. This continues until i delete the local copy of the profile. This is IE9 and Chrome. Chrome using system settings. FF works and also using system settings. Time server is fine as it works for admin and the student when it first logs on. I've taken machines and users out of usual OU and put it in an OU with only the Default Domain Policy where it only gets the proxy details (which is where i'm having another problem, but one thing at a time). Any thoughts at all? Driving me crazy and taking far too long. Cheers Stu

When a user launches IE they are presented with the attached. Deleting the user profile doesn't cure it and nothing useful has shown up in my search results. Every users default search engine is Bing and no add-ons are being used. Has anyone experienced this and what steps did you take to overcome?

We're having a weird issue here, and I just wondered if anyone else had experiences anything similar. Using IE9, our users go to google.co.uk and type YouTube into the search box. When some of the staff users then try to click on the promoted/top link, they get 'Do you want to open or save the URL?' rather than the URL just opening. The users are able to type youtube.com into the address bar and go directly to the site without any issues, so the problem must be to do with the way Google is passing through the links. I currently can't replicate this with any other search term...! Our filtering setup allows YouTube for staff users, and looking at our web filtering logs I cannot see that our filtering is trying to block/redirect the link. Does anyone have any ideas? Many thanks

Hi, I’m having a bit of a problem with setting a default homepage for IE for all users. Wondered if anyone else had this issue and solved it I want to be able to set the IE 9 homepage for all users, BUT allow them to change it or add more homepage tabs if they wish once logged in. I have tried to set it in the LGP and the registry. However, unless I also set the LGP option to not allow users to change, then the homepage doesn’t keep for all users. Or can’t it be done?

Hi there all, Unfortunately we are still running a creaking CC3 network, I recently upgraded my internet explorer to IE9 as rarely used IE other than accessing RM Management Console as I work on a standalone unit. It would appear since upgrading that I cannot access the server for love or money. It gives me the usual certificate error, in IE 8 i would just click continue and all was well. Now I click continue and nothing. I have tried adding the address to trusted sites and importing the certificate from a working ie8 station and still nothing. At the moment i am getting by with a virtual XP with IE8, but this is becoming tedious. Has anyone experienced this or have any suggestions? Thanks

Default Download location reset to C:\ so in User Configuration/Preferences/Windows Settings/Registry/ add new HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer, Right Pane Select Default Download location, update to (User Home Drive) EasyMail+ will not reply to messages in IE9, so enable Computer Configuration/Administrative Templates/Windows Components/Internet Explorer/Compatibility View Sorry if I'm telling any of you what you already know, but I've just had to search these out...

Hi, Im just setting up new GPO's for pupils on windows 7, I've got most of the stuff I need sorted but there are a couple of nagging issues still to resolve. Does anyone know how to disable access to 'Manage addons' in IE 9? I've locked down all the settings inside it, but would prefer if pupils couldnt open it at all also, how can I prevent pupils from viewing the properties of a folder? I dont want to disable the entire context menu as they need to be able to create new folders etc. Cheers
