Hi All I understand and have seen on a previous thread with regards to ie10 not setting proxy settings via group policy etc. Can anyone try and talk me through how to get this up and running? We're using windows server 2008r2 will this affect computers that are still running ie9? Haven't done much before with regards to group policy and registry editing etc, so want to make sure i get it right. Thanks for any help

I've spent most of my day searching for a resolution but with no luck. Heres my problem. When I launch you tube and look at this video (for instance): Operation Good Guys - S1 Ep1 - The Informant - BBC - YouTube (It happens with most youtube clips on our machines) I get the youtube ad, then it goes to a black screen, then it goes to a fuzzy black screen and a message saying "an error has occured, please try again later". It works on a server we use for remote desktop, it works on my machine and thats about it. All teacher machines get this message. Flash is uptodate. IE10, cleared my history and cookies but its still there! Has anyone else come about this or even better found a solution? Thanks. Steve

We use Microsoft UAG 2010 for our staff to run RDP and remote apps on their home computers . From what I'm reading on the Technet website it seems to imply that they don't currently support this using Windows 8 / IE 10? UAG 2010 Service Pack 3 is in the works - Forefront UAG Product Team Blog - Site Home - TechNet Blogs Is it really the case the Microsoft aren't supporting the latest version of their own software or am I missing something ?

Hello, This seems to be a normal thing in Windows 8 on some users profiles the IE app tile has gone. I have tried all the steps ive found on the web including:- Setting IE as the default browser. Removing and reinstalling IE 10 via Windows 8 features. I've tried using the Bing app to search for a webpage then pinning the page. Nothing is working. If i log in as the administrator the IE app is there, so its something to do with the users profile. There is no other browser installed so i,m at a loss now. I was pin the most used pages to the start page for a better experience. Thanks

i have installed ie10 through windows updates on win 7 enterprise network, however manage group policy through a windows 7 vm machine with remote server administration tools as we have not upgraded the server to server 2008 as yet due to still have xp machines as well as other reasons, however internet explorer is now not picking up the proxy configuration group policy settings through internet explorer maintenance. how is best to resolve this issue. i have read that installing a vm of windows 8 and using the server management tools resolves this? any help be greatly appreciated other wise will have to roll back to ie9. thanks for your assistance

my win2008r2 wsus server has downloaded and set to install IE10 x32 version. on WSUS all my win7 x32 clients are showing as 'not applicable' for that update - all other wsus updates install ok - the clients definitely don't have IE10 already, they are all on IE9 - I have installed the prequesities as MS article - I connect to windows update and check 'online' and it finds and wants to install IE10 fine. - I have run various scripts to make the client re-check in with the WSUS ideas please?

Went to look at a client's computer this morning. It has Windows 7 Home edition and IE10 (thanks, automatic updates!). It prints fine from OpenOffice, Firefox, Chrome, etc. However, IE doesn't print. You click Print, get the expected behavior, but nothing ever ends up in the print queue. Print Preview works fine. If you right-click and run as administrator it is able to print. If you disable IE's Protected Mode it is able to print. I found plenty of social.technet.microsoft.com results in a google search but they are all unresolved; people post that they can't print, they are asked if running as administrator or turning off protected mode helps, they say it does, then nobody says "ok, so now you need to do {something}". Any thoughts? I placed some bookmarks in Firefox for the user, who was happy enough with that, but the next time I'm there I'd like to fix it correctly.
