  1. I had this issue last week and we run Netsweeper. Had to change some values for the SSL certificate and this resolved our issue. Didn't have to deploy the certificate or anything again
  2. Thanks Paul, We're running a transparent proxy and see same issues with latency. I have been working with Netsweeper to hopefully resolve these issues. Not sure if you mentioned previously but do you host this yourself or is it hosted by Netsweeper? Ours currently worked by using IIS to authenticate the user but we are in the process of tested a different setup, whereas we use the wagent instead of using iis
  3. I can second this. I set a gpo to disable quic protocol in chrome.
  4. We host our own Netsweeper gateway onsite. We have latency issues and speeds are slow. Just recently we have found issues with nsproxy constantly erroring and causing it to restart. Just waiting for the errors to dump into a file then I can send them off to be checked over (we have checked the connected without this proxy and speeds are great).
  5. Hi Paul, Are you running a transparent of explicit proxy?
  6. The email is being spoofed. You can do the following to fix/prevent this: - change password - run anti-malware/virus scan - use 2fa - Add your school's public IP to the spf record - add DKIM record
  7. Updates don't cause YouTube to be allowed. This only happens when an end user has changed some configuration. As for YouTube being allowed, there is more than YouTube.com URL to allow before this gets through. I think there is roughly 5 URLs that have to be allowed for YouTube to work correctly.
  8. Hi All, I work in a SEN school in the Nort West as an IT Officer. I was previously an operations manager for a company who specialise in IT (companies outsource to them). I have worked in the education sector for a year and half now. I still work alongside the other company as an IT technician when we are on half terms.
  9. Have you thought bout using Azure storage for your off-site backup with Altaro software? As you won't be running it as a server and using solely for storage. This could be a cheap option. Especially if your retention is quite low
  10. Have a look at Censornet USS. You can use it as a gateway or agent. I did a full setup for a client using the agent. It can connect to AD or if you don't want it to then it doesn't have to. The agent is lightweight and quick when responding to requests
  11. Google have been doing this for many years by using 'QUIC' protocol. Many web filters etc wont inspect some web traffic when this is turned on. We had issues earlier this year meaning a user could access a certain website through our filtering. After further investigation, we turned off this setting and we could see the logs going through and being blocked. Hope this helps
  12. I have a powershell script that I run on all accounts to remove all the unnecessary apps that come with windows!
  13. I adjusted Office 365 settings so anything that is deemed malicious is held in the portal until I can check it over an release it. Also 2FA is highly recommended
  14. We have been running Netsweeper in our school now for many years. We have this setup on a physical machine running linux for our gateway. Only last year we transitioned to the transparent proxy meaning all traffic on our main network has to go through this proxy. It's not straight forward when starting new as you have to allow alot of Microsoft/Google URLs. Especially if you run Drive File Stream.
