Most of our classrooms have the old style boards with serial... Serial directly to the computer works fine on Windows 10 for us. Serial to USB doesn't work and then stops the serial working until a reboot. These are on the latest drivers. We will be looking to replace these boards as soon as we can.

Hi all, Just wondering if anyone has any experience with Talaxy by TASC. We are looking to move to this solution as it looks promising bringing insight and pars together. This also being a cloud solution will help with updates as when we do them things tend to go wrong! We currently have Insight and Pars but use Teachers 2 Parents to send messages. Talaxy offer a text messaging service with a slightly cheaper per text cost. We are a high school, initially TASC said this was aimed at primary schools but have added a lot more features to tailor for high schools too.

We have to redo the whole school finger prints as we are not allowed to migrate the fingerprint data. Is that right?

We are also looking to go with BioStore Fastrak. Does anyone else have any experience with them? SLT are getting worried. Did you end up going with them?

Have you tried running "sudo update-ca-certificates"?

I hope the free version is kept as we use this as our backup solution!

Ah, I can see why it is very frustrating. Could this be due to how many ipads you have on it? We only have 75 and will be upgrading to 195. Do you think that would slow it down? I don't do much editing in the MDM so not used it enough to notice any huge problems but I didn't set it up initially. Have you spoken to Lightspeed about any of the slowness issues or is it not worth the hassle?

Hi, We use Lightspeed. We are looking to expand it to the trust to manage all of our iPads. I know there are a few little issues but it mostly works. Is there any reason why you are not liking it? If you were to change to another MDM you would either have to unenroll then re-enroll or wipe might be better for a fresh install.

I'd recommend Itarian. Formally known as Comodo One. Has all the features you are looking for a pretty easy setup!

I lived there for 2 years (in Larne) and did work experience as an IT Technician. Pretty much the same thing but with an accent! [emoji23] only been to 1 high school but they used Citrix. Don't know if that's the norm. All the best.

Ah fair enough. We have gone with the Equinox and with the time scale being slow it will be here on Friday. (Ordered start of summer) there were some other delays that didn't help but got there in the end.

Comodo MDM (itarian now) is free and got quite a few features with very good support.

I've installed Office 2019. It has activated, hopefully will stay like that now!

Open office, activation box pops up asking to sign in or enter product key. Enter product key. Yes to UAC another pop up box says it has now been activated and to close office. When i close and open it happens again. Tried repairing office nothing, tried to enter key when in modify in add and remove programs still nothing...

Ah, I see what you mean. Not actually looked at that. Was a while ago when I was working but I believe there was none at all. Will have a double check.

The two 2016 keys are different and both work.
