Hey guys, Back again with some more wonderful questions to ask you wonderful people about: Currently the school I'm working with (Secondary Education) are using a piece of software called DataDisc and DataDisc Timing. The software is a science program, and allows for real-time data logging and data manipulation in Education (Datadisc family) This software is really, really old. So old that there isn't a silent installation for it anywhere. This makes it extremely difficult to automate and, as we use SCCM, renders that completely useless in the imaging process with our laptop cycles. To try and get rid of the software and destroy the beast once and for all, I'm looking for some more contemporary software that has the same level of functionality as DataDisc and DataDisc Timing, that allows for silent installation. What are you guys using in your schools? Any recommendations? Help me destroy the ancient beast, please! Thank you, guys. Alicia

ActivInspire License Key
exhaustedittech replied to exhaustedittech's topic in Promethean Direct Support
We don't have the boards themselves, just the ActivInspire software as some of our staff prefer this to the SMART board software. Would the lic key be within any files? or am I shooting in the dark here? -
Hi guys, First time ever posting in this forum. I've got a staff member who has managed to lose their license key for ActivInspire (doh!) and they've asked me whether there's any way of me retrieving it. Do you guys know if it's possible to get the lic key out from within the program/program files on the computer? Thanks so much for any support with this

Also, how come you're then using a task sequence if the cert is being added as a dependency? How come you need a task sequence for that? -
Oracle VM VirtualBox SCCM Deployment
exhaustedittech replied to exhaustedittech's topic in How do you do....it?
So, one final time for my puny brain: 1. In terms of adding the cert, you're adding as a dependency to virtualbox (so im assuming then that virtualbox is being assembled as an app?)? But for me I can only add apps as dependencies. Does that mean you've added the cert as an app? -
That's awesome!! I've just assembled our admin image, so I'm going to give this a try. If you don't mind me asking, what's the detection method for the exe? Thank you again for your help, seriously awesome

Hey guys, Sorry to post so much, but I'm super new to sccm I'm trying to deploy solidworks out, but my command line installation will not work. All of it is absolutely fine when ran from my bat file, which installs the prerequisites and then solidworks shortly after but, when I try to install via sccm (with the prereqs listed as dependencies) it fails out immediately. How are you guys deploying in sccm?

Oracle VM VirtualBox SCCM Deployment

I'm probably being really thick, but how did you push your certs? I take it you're doing a task seq for virtualbox? (sorry if these are stupid questions, I'm pretty new to sccm) -
Hey guys! I'm back in the forums asking more dummy questions I'm trying to install virtualbox via sccm. I've managed to extract the msi, and I have ran the msi with both quiet and passive switches, but the program keeps failing to install! Does anyone have virtualbox in sccm currently and, if so, can you save me from this hell of not being able to deploy it? Thank you so much <3

PyCharm Edu 2018.3 in SCCM...
exhaustedittech replied to exhaustedittech's topic in How do you do....it?
Honestly I did scream when the exe actually installed -- thank you so much! SW2018 is becoming a pain in the backside, so probs going to be making a thread on that next hahaha I just keep getting weird errors when trying to install via command-line install in sccm (trying to avoid the dreaded admin image) and it isn't exactly playing ball but no worries!- 6 replies

Steve, you're actually my favourite human being, ever. Thank you for saving me time, I feel like a bit of an airhead right now but oh well!! I know this is relatively off topic, but I'm trying to get solidworks into SCCM right now and that's making me want to jump off of a bridge - have you ever had to deploy this?- 6 replies

PyCharm Edu 2018.3 in SCCM...
exhaustedittech replied to exhaustedittech's topic in How do you do....it?
There's an offline version?! I feel like a fool... For flags I use /S /CONFIG=edu_silent.config and /D Steve, you are saving my bacon! I'm going to check out the config file now to see if there's anything blatant that I'm missing -- thank you!!- 6 replies

Hey guys, After lurking these forums for 3 years, I'm finally posting for the first time! I'm having an issue with PyCharm Edu in SCCM. I can get the app in just fine but, when it gets round to installing, it appears to think it has installed, but actually nothing is present on the C drive. The log file is below for anyone's interest -- I've been trying to fix this for a few days now and I'm starting to give up lol If anyone has PyCharm installed via sccm, I would love it if you could share your process and how you managed it!!!
