[bromcom] Problem with saving of changes to adhoc reports
Bromcom_Support replied to CarterUSM's topic in MIS Systems
Hi @CarterUSM As this seems to be a more complex issue and not something we would easily be able to suggest a resolution for without proper investigation, can we please suggest you raise a ticket via the Bromcom support portal, so that one of our agents can look into this further for you. Kind regards, Bromcom Support. -
Hi @Theblacksheep If you export from Reports > Admin > Staff Absence Report, then do a pivot table and add a column with the formula you can get the data. Please see the attached file as an example, sheet 1 specifically. Copy of ADMStaffAbsenceReport.xlsx Kind regards, Bromcom Support

[bromcom] How to create a report for address labels
Bromcom_Support replied to CarterUSM's topic in MIS Systems
Hi @CarterUSM As a quick alternative that you may want to try if you haven't already is the Parent/Guardian Label Report, found under Reports > Administration > Parent/Guardian Labels. Further to the training session we are running on Wednesday, we do have learning resources on our Documentation Centre, specifically here where there is a quick guide and training videos, should you want to build this web merge report before the training session, here: https://docs.bromcom.com/knowledge-base/how-to-create-a-mail-merge-report/ For creating a web merge report specifically for address labels we would recommend using People - Students reporting domain and the following data items, in addition to any others you may want to use: - Students > Personal Information > Addresses > Full Address (label layout) OR - Students > Contact Details > Personal Information > Addresses > Full Address (label layout) Depending on whether you want the student's or parent's address. I hope this has helped answer you query, please feel free to reach out to our helpdesk should you need any more support. Kind regards, Bromcom Support -
[bromcom] Where do the merged reports go?
Bromcom_Support replied to CarterUSM's topic in MIS Systems
Hi @CarterUSM Depending on where you chose to save the web merge report it may appear in different places on the system. I would be worth checking the My Documents page, which can be found from the drop-down menu when clicking your profile picture at the top right, this is the most common place web merges are saved to. There is also an article and training video for web merge reports on our Documentation Centre here if you would like any more clarification: https://docs.bromcom.com/knowledge-base/how-to-create-a-mail-merge-report/ If you have any further issues locating your completed web merge document, please do speak to our Helpdesk. If you would prefer not to call us, we do also have a Live Chat function available or you can raise a support ticket if you like. Kind regards Bromcom Support. -
[bromcom] Cannot delete comment bank comments entered in error
Bromcom_Support replied to CarterUSM's topic in MIS Systems
Hi @CarterUSM The way the assessment marksheets are intended to operate is that comments are over written when a new comment is added. From what you've said here it sounds like this isn't happening. So that we can look at getting this resolved for you, could you please contact our support Helpdesk or raise a ticket via the support portal please, and we will get this looked into as soon as we can. Regards Bromcom Support -
Hi @panosthegreat Unfortunately we don't currently have a feature on the Bromcom system which can carry out what you have described, but it certainly does sound like it would be a useful feature! If you have access to our Support Portal please do feel free to submit this as a development idea for our software team to look into possibly implementing in the future. Regards Bromcom Support

Hi @CarterUSM Looking at your screenshot that isn't what is supposed to be happening, the Update Template Columns feature should still be fully functional. In order for us to log this issue and get it investigated further for you, are you able to raise a ticket via the Bromcom Support Portal at all? You mentioned that your aren't able to contact our Helpdesk at the moment, if you are having any issues getting onto the Support Portal please do contact our Customer Care Team on [email protected] If you prefer you can always call our Helpdesk or use our Live Chat feature too. Kind Regards, Bromcom Support

[bromcom] BROMCOM and 2 Factor Authentication 2FA
Bromcom_Support replied to kennysarmy's topic in MIS Systems
Hi @kennysarmy Yes you can whitelist the school's IP address as well as having 2FA set to on or off, however if 2FA is on, the school's IP being whitelisted won't make a difference as you will still be asked for authentication. If you could advise what you were hoping to achieve with the security settings we should be able to help you with the best course of action. Regards Bromcom -
@ridleyrumpus You'll find the preferred first and last name fields on the student's profile page, if you hit the "pencil" edit icon next to the students name at the top you will get a pop-up box with the option to enter preferred first and last names.
-
Hi @ridleyrumpus The register will show the students preferred name as long as this is populated in the MIS. Hope this helps :-)

Hi Panos Is it possible to set particular teachers not to appear on the cover list? if so, could you point me in the right direction? 1. If you right click on the teachers name in the arrange cover screen you can make unavailable for cover. You can also Display Staff Cover Settings in the right click function 2. You can also go Modules>Curriculum>Staff Timetabling – Choose a member/s of staff and right click on a period and choose ‘designated cover period’ – this code is created in Config>Curriculum> Staff Non Contact and Duty Codes. Is it possible to set particular teachers to appear at the top of the cover list, based on weightings I specify individually? like SIMS did And is it possible to set the list of available staff to appear in any other order other than alphabetical? 1. When you go into Arrange Cover you can adapt the view by clicking on the Green + to add a new Display or the Pencil to Edit the current display and then click on the headers to sort the selection ( see screenshot below) Hope this helps

Hi timbo343 Hi hope the advice form Aicrd has helped you. We have also made it easy for schools to use our mail service, clicking on the Bromcom SMTP Service will let you send 3000 a month for free.

Hi Suportman Glad you are loving Bromcom and thank you for the feedback you have provided. If you raise support cases for the photos and MCAS android App and we will take a look for you. I will feedback to the product managers about using the contacts email address to login to MCAS. With regards to seeing who has not used MCAS you can use the MCAS Accounts Report and filter by Enabled and Not in use. If this does not do what you need drop me a PM with the details and I can share this with the product team. We are currently updating the default roles in the MIS to give schools a better starting point and this will be included on all our future migrations going forward. Once again thank you for the feedback :-)

[bromcom] New to Bromcom - how to print a Users / Roles report
Bromcom_Support replied to kennysarmy's topic in MIS Systems
Hi Kennysarmy Welcome to Bromcom! If you drop me a PM and I can provide you with some advice. -
Hi Jamie I spoke with your colleague earlier today and have entered the correct details for you. If you have any further issues I asked him to come back to me directly.
-
Good afternoon Shadow_Walker Apologies for the delays on the phones, we have lots of schools still completing their end of year processes before they return. Please feel free to log a case online, if you have not got an invite to the new portal please drop me a message and I will get this sent across to you.
-
Hi Ditto, there is an additional cost but it is minimal and you do get a service designed for bulk delivery of messages. If your email traffic is not likely to exceed permitted limits then yes, you can use gmail for the SMTP settings in Bromcom. However the school needs to keep in mind that Google enforce rate sending limits on emails which means if you send a bulk emails it is likely that it will not be fully sent or the messages delayed.
-
Hi Ssouth Just to clarify. If yout email traffic is likely to exceed permitted limits (The maximum number of messages a user can send in a 24-hour period is 10,000. However, this can vary, depending on the number of user licenses in your G Suite account. The maximum number of unique recipients allowed per user per 24-hour period is approximately 130 times the number of user licenses in your G Suite account), we do not recommend that you use Gmail for the SMTP settings in Bromcom. Google enforces rate sending limits on emails which means if you send a bulk emails it is likely that it will not be fully sent. Looking at what I believe is your MIS system it looks like you have now set these settings up and have them working? If you need any further assistance or want to explore other options please give the support team a call.
-
Hi ssouth Welcome to Bromcom. I am afraid that we do not recommend that you use gmail for the SMTP settings in Bromcom. Google enforce rate sending limits on emails which means if you send a bulk emails it is likely that it will not be fully sent. If you give the support team a call we can advise you on other options.

[bromcom] Importing Assessment Data into Bromcom
Bromcom_Support replied to campdave's topic in MIS Systems
Hi campdave If you contact our support team they will be able to advise you on how this can be done. If need be I can also get one of our trainers to give you a call. -
Hi Noel Sorry to hear your staff have lost work. We do recommend that users make sure the software is installed on a local machine and the data files are also saved locally and not a network location. Please feel free to call me to discuss. Regards Ross Hunt
