Thankyou. I've upgraded the machine to Win11 so will see if that sorts it.

Hi, Has anyone else had problems where when you open an Explorer Window or just randomly, half your screen goes White. This seems to be happening is Windows 10. I've tried graphics drivers but that hasnt solved it. User is using two monitors and all looks ok there. Only a reboot sorts it out. An example could be being in Google Chrome and you go to attach a file to an email and the file browse box just becomes white and cuts everything off. you cant see anything. Screen is half white. Anyone had this or know a fix? Many thanks.

No printing after Windows server 2016 to 2022 upgrade
Sonic007 posted a topic in Windows Server 2022
Hi. Can anyone point me in the right direction. Updated a Windows 2016 server to 2022 and it went through fine, keeping my existing files and data. Problem seems to be that clients can’t send anything to print. Printers and drivers are on the clients machines. Nothing changed on that side. Is there something Windows server 2022 needs fixing for my printing? Thankyou. -
Yes it was a driver issue. Several people have had this problem with the Realtek driver and Windows 11 install.

How much do you think this cabling job would be?
Sonic007 replied to Sonic007's topic in Wired Networks
Wifi is flakey in there so wouldnt putting an AP in there just be the same if they are trying to connect to the main building. -
Hi, We have a seperate building which is the kitchen at our school. It is an old building with very thick walls and full of machinery, ovens, fridges, etc. There are two offices in there too for the chef and our premises officer has an office nextdoor too. The Wifi signal is litterally non existant which I would say is due to the walls and all the machinery in there. I want to put in a phone and a Wifreless AP in there to get better Wifi so need data points. How much do you think it would cost to have cable run from the main buiding (about 10 metres away) over the courtyard, and into the kitchen? I don't have the time or the tools to drill through thick walls like that and then would it be better to bury the cable or put it along a metal line up in the air? Thankyou.

This is exactly the same issue I am having: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UJ8syAvPHKU I ended up downloading the latest Realtek Gigabit LAN driver and it has solved the issue from here: https://www.realtek.com/Download/List?cate_id=584 Now I need to test integrating the driver into the Install.

I've been customising a Windows 11 install and it is working fine and installs everything perfectly off a bootable USB stick. It will only work if I have nothing attached to the ethernet port. So, once I get to the desktop, If I plug in an ethernet cable, it crashes and says a problem has occured and it needs to restart. It then never recovers and loops continuously crashing. I'm thinking some sort of driver issue, however I wonder why this would be happening. If I just use a normal Windows 11 ISO it installs fine and no errors. Has anyone else had this? Thankyou.

Don't know how this compares to everyones bills and if 3CX will get them lower.... We pay the following: £210 per year maintenance charge £217 per month line rental /call charges / hosted rental
-
I trhink you are right. I will double check this. I've already noticed we are paying for a line for a Fax that we no longer use and have found a number that I have no idea what goes back to so investigating that too.
-
Thanks everyone. It sounds like 3CX is the way to go! Now to decide if we go hosted or run a VM with it on. I've no experience with 3CX so wonder if the Hosted route wuld be better. I said 20 handsets originally. We have 26. For our 26 handsets we would want to make sure each of these can dial out.
-
Hi everyone, Our current contract is all over the place and costing us silly money. We currently have Yealink handsets that I'd like to keep as they do the job and we own them. We have approx 20 internal extensions and two physical numbers, one for our Infant School, one for our Junior School.....both these numbers currently go to the same menu system and callers can choose a school and leave pupil absence information, or talk to the office. At the moment if we want to make any changes we have to call them up and they have to change the names on a phone extension or do any changes we need. I'd like to just be able to login, make a change, and then that is it, it gets pushed to the handset. I've heard good things about a hosted 3CX system. What would you all recommend and what company to go with? Thankyou.

Google Classroom - Delete old classes in bulk
Sonic007 replied to Sonic007's topic in Cloud Services
@jthompson Thankyou. I will definately look in to this. -
Hi everyone, We use GSuite (Google for Education) and have several Google Classroom classes where the teachers have not archived the old classes or the teachers have now left. I would like to find a way to delete these old classes as students are using them as chat rooms and to post irrelevant content. Is there a way to do this? Thankyou.

Asbestos / Working at Height / H&S Training Recommendations
Sonic007 replied to ejacklin's topic in Courses and Training
We use iHasco. You can assign different courses to the relevant staff. -
I had a play around with WimWitch and didnt like it. NLite seems easy enough and I'm not a fan of going down the Microsoft inTune and all route.
-
I'm after a deployment software for customising an image, adding programs, windows tweaks, join domain, add wifi settings, etc and wondered if anyone uses NLite? This would be mostly for making Windows 11 images. Thankyou.

Thankyou.

Hi all, Is there a setting or GPO to make all Windows11 users use Dark mode for the task bar and windows? Many thanks.

Put what he is good at. Eg. Maybe he's an ace at photoshop or has experience buidling Pc's for his friends. Maybe he Flies drones and knows how to trouble shoot them. Maybe he builds websites. Maybe he is good at digital music production and has experience with sound and AV. Anything related to hobbies and how they can be useful to the job can be beneficial.
