  1. Thought I'd update on this, the mailbox randomly started working again just as Microsoft support asked for more logs(despite me having already ran their logging tool). So no idea whether they actually fixed the problem or it's a matter of luck. The support engineer said they hadn't done anything.
  2. Since the 2nd, they did another remote session today. Confirming ineed that when you login to the users account email doesn't work. Although they did grab some logs and he says he'll get back to me by tomorrow morning. We don't have any on prem exchange, this account has only ever existed online.
  3. Edge does give a different error 'Microsoft.Mapi.MapiExceptionMailboxInTransit'. I'm going to send a chasing email to Microsoft.
  4. The user can indeed access all other office 365 functions, it's just email that doesn't. All users are licensed via AD Group, which this users is a member of. Besides the username there's no difference between this account and another that was created in this intake. The exchange properties also opens normally.
  5. Just tested and I can't get into the mailbox. It does though give different errors. err: Microsoft.Exchange.Data.Storage.WrongServerException and emsg: ErrorMailboxFailoverWithoutRedirection.
  6. No odd AD attributes, it's a standard Salamander generated user account. I've tested the problem myself(the students password is still what was generated for her), so I've tested it from my office PC and my home iMac with the same thing happening.
  7. Hi All, One of our new students mailboxes hasn't worked since it was created last month. When logging in she gets this error 'Microsoft.Exchange.Data.Storage.DatabaseNotFoundException', this is regardless of device used to access email. I do have an open support case with Microsoft, but I'm getting almost no meaningful response. So in the meantime is anyone where of anything I can do on my end? I've tried removing licenses and adding again after 24 hours but the same thing still happens.
  8. No problem. I'll admit up front we didn't get a quote for Unift kit, the lack of hardware support beyond 1 year put us off. So in both cases(wifi & switching) Aruba were cheaper. For our current Aruba CX 6200 refresh we paid £1720 per switch and for the IAP-315's we paid £230 per AP in 2019. You don't need a support contract unless you want enhanced support(4 hour response and such) as everything comes with a limited lifetime warrenty(5 years from official end of support date I think).
  9. We replaced our old Meru system with Aruba IAP-315's in 2019 and they've been solid as a rock. Literally a set and forget system that I rarely have to touch except for firmware updates every few months. We're also going through a switch refresh now replacing very old HP switches with new Aruba CX kit. I can't comment too much on them as most of the order still hasn't arrived.
  10. Knew it was too good to be true, one of the four switches has arrived faulty. Just waiting to see what the ETA is on the replacement while at the same time I have no ETA at all on the remaining five 6200's.
  11. I've since had a bit of good news, four of my switches will be arriving at some point this week along with the extra 10Gbps line card for the core switch. But sadly no ETA on the remaining 5 yet
  12. You're very lucky, I ordered my 6200's in mid June!
  13. We're supposed to be doing a switch refresh(old HP for new Aruba CX series) and the rate things are going they won't be delivered before very late August. So I'm honestly not sure I can get them installed before term starts. Speaking to my old school their entire summer Dell order of 120 all in ones isn't arriving until mid September forcing them to replace computers over the course of the new term. We're also staring to renew our copier lease and suppliers are saying at at least two months on those, although we don't need them until October. How's everyone's summer equipment orders going?
  14. I'm honestly not sure what I'll do with ours. They certainly won't be going into on site use as they're too low powered. I might just keep them in a pool for students to borrow if they suddenly need to self isolate or something.
  15. Just an update to this in case anyone finds this thread with the same problem. I've fixed the problem with a firmware update. We have two DL360 G10's with the E208e-p storage controller. The solution in this case was to update the controller firmware, once updated & rebooted everything works normally again. If anyone needs it here's the firmware link https://support.hpe.com/hpesc/public/swd/detail?swItemId=MTX_1b05b3627f244efebc5553b7f4#tab1 as it does cover a few other controllers as well.
  16. Odd, I moved from 6.7 to 7 update 2a. Have checked it's seeing the SAN properly and not making it as local, I just can't create a snapshot. I've got a remote sesison with vmware support tomorrow morning, so fingers crossed that sheds some light. Is very annoying though as none of our backup jobs can run until this is fixed. Rebooting vcentre cleared the task from the UI, but something's still stuck on the hosts.
  17. Morning All, Has anyone had any major problems with esx 7? I've upgraded our two hosts to esx 7 update 2a and it seems to have completely broken snapshot functionality. I only noticed when our Veeam jobs all failed and now running a snapshot seems to completely lockup the VM after a few minutes which also can't be cancelled. I do have a support case with vmare that I've opened this morning, but just wanted to see if anyone else has had similar problems?
  18. Hi All, Just wondering what peoples experiences have been with HPE Support. Had one of our DL360 G10 ESX hosts fail on friday evening(UPI initialisation error, won't complete POST). I logged the ticket on Friday evening, fully not expecting a reply until Monday. However it was Tuesday afternoon before I even heard a peep out of them , where they asked us to swap processors around and try removing them one at a time. We went through this and with nothing in socket 2, the server booted up normally. So they scheuled an engineer visit on Thursday to replace the processor. So Thursday comes around and the engineer replaced the processor, commenting that he never gets call outs for Gen 10 servers very often. However even with a replacement processor the server is still busted, it doesn't error but doesn't boot up either. So the engineer suggests it could be the socket on the motherboard, but to be safe he puts the new processor in socket 1 and removes out original processor 1. However when he does it the server doesn't even turn on at all, simply nothing. He then gets back onto the support team and says that there's a chance the new processor is faulty but on the otherhand it could be the motherboard. So he puts in a request for another visit with another new processor and a motherboard as well. Then today we get the icing on the cake, due to part availability nothing can happen until late next week at the earliest! I know the chances of our second DL360 failing as well are pretty slim, but I don't find it acceptable how slowly this problem is being dealt with. It doesn't particularly make me wants to use HPE again when these servers get refreshed. To top this all off I'm now on holiday for two weeks. So that when they do eventually come back the only IT person available will be the apprentice, credit to him he's on the level 4 course, but hasn't done much with server hardware. Has anyone else had similar very slow experiences with HPE? I accept we only have the NBD warranty, but by that standard the engineer should have come on Tuesday! The one saving grace is that this was my first ever real world experience of vmware HA, which worked pretty well and had everything failed over and online within 15 minutes.
  19. We use Salamander as well, so it's complely hands free from our point of view. Any set in our MIS then gets created automatically as a Team, Staff are aware that they then need to activate the team before students can see it.
  20. This has now been published in the Office 365 status page, MS confirm a reboot does fix the problem. Although to be honest I did need to upgrade those machines to 20H2 anyway, they were are last remaing ones.
  21. Just to update this on our problem. I upgraded the 8 problematic computers to 20H2 on Monday night and the problems with Office & Teams have gone away, all teachers concerned report everything is now working normally.
  22. We have this every now & then. Cloud Drive Mapper support say it's down to throttling on Microsoft's end and there's nothing they can do. Although a version 3 is promised which a number of tweaks/differences to improve reliability.
  23. I think the desire is to have both live streaming & offer a recording afterwards. We do have a mixing desk, but I'm not too familiar with it, will take a look. Yes we'd also need to capture the computer screen. We're a sixth form, so years 12-13. The lectures vary each week, with a variety of external speakers invited. Last week we had the local mayor, next month we've got Philip Zimbardo. So it's really varied.
  24. Morning All, Does anyone have any recommendations for lecture capture? Next academic year SLT have the idea that we'll offer hybrid lectures, with speakers physically attending with students watching remotely(as we can't fit both year groups in our hall). We do have Planet eStream, currently so I've got an eye on their lecture capture solution. However my concern is audio, I'm not much of an AV person so it is possible to capture the output from the wireless microphones we have(sorry if it sounds stupid)?
  25. I've updated one of them during a free period and suspect so. We've had no reports of this problem on our 20H2 machines at all.
