A prestigious, independent preparatory school in Bracknell are looking for an experienced IT technician to manage the technical and operational requirements to work on behalf of the ICT department for the whole school. It’s a small and friendly environment with the opportunity to be well known throughout and get involved on all aspects on IT within the school. The main responsibilities include: ● Providing 1st to 2nd line ICT support for the whole school, supporting lessons, teaching and learning and administration. ● Support of IT, business and administration systems. ● Record accurately and prioritise IT support requests, progress and outcomes in the Helpdesk system. ● Maintain accurate system documentation, register of hardware, software and licences. ● Install, maintain and upgrade a wide range of IT equipment and software adhering to licensing regulations. ● Monitor and maintain IT consumable stock to ensure adequate supplies are available in a timely and cost effective manner, ensuring best value at all times. ● Monitor report and administer the use of the internet, web filtering solutions and other online systems within the school. ● Answering telephone, email and face to face enquiries. ● Assist with carrying out scheduled and planned termly projects. ● Support the aim of the school and all members of the school community with respect and consideration. Essential criteria: · Previous experience of working in an IT support role · Experience of network administration duties · Strong knowledge of Windows Operation Systems including Server 2016, Windows 10 and 7 · Office 365 · Google Suite Administrator · Willingness to keep up to date with evolving technologies · Will need to have a good communication and organisational skills · Self-motivated and to use your own initiative · Be friendly, polite and a team player This post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure Application to the Disclosure and Barring Service.   3. Our client is one of the UK’s leading IT support services and they provide IT support within the education system. They are looking for an ICT service desk support technician to help run all services and the role is a critical part of their services to schools. The service desk is the first point of contact for all of our customers, suppliers and colleagues and will be at the main hub of the company. Duties and Responsibilities: Incident management – Customer calls to our service desk need to be dealt with professionally, recorded on our information management system and managed through to resolution, following our KPI’s for call resolution times. Escalation – where cases are more complex or exceeding KPI resolution times the post holder will follow the defined escalation procedures appropriate to the product. Use remote access software to access school systems to fully investigate and resolve any problems. Pro-active monitoring of Client ICT infrastructure and Software Maintaining daily checks on Client systems to ensure backups are running and Servers maintain performance Documenting all resolutions following the service desk procedures and flowcharts. Providing details and information to the relevant senior staff call issues and resolutions. Maintain all office PC’s to ensure latest software is installed and systems are working efficiently. To commit to undertake continual training and development in the products supported. To contribute to the development of the service to further expand into other educational establishments. Possible site visits may be required to supply cover for field engineers. Skills criteria: Knowledge of business application software including the use of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook) Office 365 and contact databases.
