Google recently added googlevideo.com as a requirement to access youtube correctly. Check it's not blocked. Also youtube now appears to have issue with IE 9. IE10 and 11 works for us though.

ditto. In conclusion ie 9 seems to be faulty. Also the following 3 domains need access. Googlevideo.com ytimg.com and youtube.com

Ok so I tested a staff account and the script runs fine. It's not a permission issue but at this stage I'm thinking it's mandatory profile related. It is mandatory profile related

@apeo as stated (right at the end of my post) It runs fine. This was all set up and working just fine until recently. Possibly a WU that has broken something. @ricki Machine -yes, I assume you mean a client PC. All our machines have 1Gig ports however most just run at 100Mb, including the one I'm testing on beside me. Permissions were set a while back and the User I can confirm does have permission to create a folder. Nothing in Event log bar a few errors as it's trying to redirect some folders to the T drive. Well my group policy results wizard shows the script has been applied and nothing untoward.

Ok this has had me scratching my head now. Recently two scripts have stopped working correctly. They have worked fine previously and to the best of my knowledge nothing pertinent to scripts has been altered GPO wise recently. The script is running but it seems to be missing out certain parts. In particular the creation of folders. If I manually create the first folder then the drive will map at logon (so script is running) However the Files folder is then NOT created. ----- md "\\fps03\CA$\Current\%username%" net use T: "\\fps03\CA$\Current\%username%" /persistent:NO net use H: /delete /y net use V: /delete /y net use Y: /delete /y net use Z: /delete /y t: md "T:\files" c:\robocopy.exe \\Fps03\CAfiles$\ t:\files /e ------ If the user runs this batch file from the desktop it runs fine, creation, mapping and copying.

Is that the creative suite 6 running on those machines in a lab as students?

Basically the title says it all. Flash professional, part of the adobe CS6 suite, is crashing and when it does it corrupts the students work. It happens a lot and students are starting to manage the problem by saving multiple versions as they go along. However it's not really acceptable for a piece of software that cost the best part of £6K. Anyone here use it reliably? Wouldn't mind comparing notes if it does. Thanks. p.s. Adobe openly declare to not support LANs. (WTF, which year do they think we live in)

Any parts really. We still use a lot of D520s and D530s too. Maintaining them is so much smoother than the more modern ones.

Went with Remote-Learner who teemed up with overnetdata.

Same problem, Fixed it just now by 1) copying my mandatory profile 2) Assign the copy to a test student account 3) give that student full control 4) rename ntuser.man to ntuser.dat 5) assign your test pc to a test OU (within the existing strucure) and edit the GPO to allow changes to propagate to server (it's a computer policy, system>userprofiles) 6) reboot test pc so gpo change applies 7) log on as test student 8) log off as test student 9) check that the time stamp on the ntuser.dat has changed to the log out time. (if not check steps above) 10) log back on 11) open CS6 Indesign 12) wait till it opens fully then close it (our issue was that it crashed on launch for mandatory profile) 13) log off 14) rename ntuser.dat to ntuser.man 15) remove test account permission and edit gpo to prevent changes to propagate (belt and braces) 16) log back on and open CS6 indesign (for us this still worked) 17) So far this bloated our mandatory profile by 2Mb so for us the following elliminates most of this and still works. 18) make a copy of the new profile 16) delete appdata\roaming\adobe folder 17) test again. We're currently going to thoroughly test the new profile tomorrow before making it live (by renaming the copy to the live version) I'll post any updates or glitches this may have caused should any crop up.

Checked out LUNS. This thread is really aimed at feedback on Remote-Learner as an organisation and the Overnetdata product they offer.

As part of my research into Moodle support providers and SIMS integration the product on offer by R-L is advanced and competitively priced. We've not commited to them yet but it looks inevitable. If any one has any advice or experience with R-L they'd like to share (good or bad) then please drop me a PM. (Don't want this to become a slagging match or anything)

Well the webanywhere offering will meet our needs, we'll see how the quote comes out. As will the SchoolsICT offering.

Anybody come a cross (or recommend) a company providing on site moodle support (well mostly remotely but I mean supporting a server on our site). I've discussed this with LUNS and it's not something they are keen to offer. We have moodle 1.9 on site at the moment but it's kept shielded from the internet, students access it off site by remote desktop. We'd like to go to 2.x version of Moodle with SIMS integration using ZiLink. This would be a direct replacement for an underused SLG. The savings there would go towards a service contract for moodle where a third party would be responsible for keeping it patched and providing moodle expertise when needed. Moodle would then have direct access to the internet and students won't need to RDP into school to use it. Anybody out there doing something similar, pros cons? Feel free to pm me company contact info and the likes. Thanks David.

I suppose if you had something in there about parents being responsible (paying) for any damage caused by their child then a signature is better than non.

Possibly permissions in the registry itself rather than NTFS permissions which you mention you did. regdit > load hive> find ntuser.man> permissions > check students have at least read permissions.

Yeah I kept this one guy talking for ages. Apparently there's some Vouchers on the way for tesco for me. He wanted to send them to my home address which of course I refused and said the school address would be fine. Then after a lot of waffle he starts telling me about their manufactured toners and 50,000 page count. My response was "I only buy originals" this was followed by another blurb on the money saving and page count to which I again responded "I only buy originals" then he hung up. I wonder when my vouchers will arrive
