No problem, glad I could help

As it's Windows 10 in Display Settings (not Intel Graphics Properties) does it have this setting as this should be where it detects the sensor and you disable it
-
As Chazzy2501 has said there is a setting for this which should work (note the "should" this is windows afterall) GPO -Admin templates -System -Logon -Always wait for the network at computer startup and logon = Enabled
-
I would as well go for the Targeted GPO setting as much easier and will follow them around if they login to another machine

I have used Rise Vision in the past >> https://www.risevision.com/ It runs on Raspberry Pi too if you want a little project for yourself

Hi, OK that processor normally has 6 cores - but thats by the by. SSDs in RAID are fine as long as you know what you are doing and that you use Enterpise SSDs like Intels or Samsung Pro (or better). If you have the budget then you would set up RAID 10 then you get the write performance of RAID 0 and the redundancy of RAID 1. I personnally would use DAS for an SQL DB anyway as last thing I want if the network goes down my main DB going awol. You could still use the SAN for onsite backups so you would not discard it and recovery would be better than bringing back from offsite/cloud too. Virtualising SQL is a topical subject but as long as the Data is on it's own set of SSDs - not shared with any other system, then it should be fine

Pupil Data Collection and GDPR
PD1279 replied to sarahstacey's topic in Data Protection & Information Handling
I would do the same as 'Oaktech' Send a form with blanks for the Childs name & missing information, then you are covered as you have not sent any Pupil data out from the school. Until they hand the form back to you/the office they parents are liable for the information and get the teachers/office to use a tick sheet for when it comes back, like a register abeit a large one :-) -
Also has problems with manually mapped drives, GPO ones are rumoured to still work. I have updated my machine to 1809 with no issues but it seems that if people have been setting some odd storage locations/redirections on the machines rather than sticking with MS recommended locations then for some reason it removes these with no warnings. A new install does not of course suffer from any of these issues apart from the mapped drive ones.

I would re-install the Broadcom Teaming software as sounds as though something wrong there if it is not creating "Team1" (or whatever name) in the Network and Sharing Centre. Also test on an unmanaged switch, if you have one laying around with another PC to confirm whether it is the File Server or the Switch. Also make sure latest Broadcom Drivers from them and not the in built ones from MS

Software to obtain serial numbers or service Tags on our network
PD1279 replied to superatticman's topic in Hardware
I second Spiceworks, I use it all the time, helps to keep Helpdesk Tickets/Inventory/Machine changes etc -
As it's hypothetical, I would quickly run out and buy a external USB drive and do a backup to save this problem or at least use SQL Management Studio and do a Database Backup. Get original CTF Files that you imported (if available) and re import those and then use your data collection sheets and prepare for a long weekend. Work from registers, Tucasi (if used) etc and work backwards. Find out how much SIMS Hosted is as quickest way to get system back up (at cost unfortunately), but then you don't have to worry about backups then going forwards.

OK, just read that if SMTP on same machine i.e.internal to 3CX app and not going to 3CX themselves, change server to 127.0.0.1 - if external then I would assume same as conversation and something up with their server or your IP blacklisted (highly unlikely !!)
-
I would say a Firewall (windows or otherwise) is not letting in your SMTP port on your eMail server (port 25 or whatever you have set). Disable Firewall, If allowed and try again or allow port from that IP as may be set to only allow from certain external IP etc etc
-
Do they respond to a WOL being sent? If so you could create an event on your server which sends this once and hour just to confirm machine alive and then stop the task from 5pm onwards ? Also - what NIC & driver version ?
-
I assume it may be installed in "Program Files" or "Program Files (x86)", if so we had an issue with similar software and in the end we installed it to c:\apps\appname and all the problems went away - a pain but it sorted it Just a thought
-
Well done that man
-
and you are on same network as Server ? make sure Firewall on server allowing it through too not just hardware Firewall Can you telnet on 443 to it from another client ?
-
What port is your spiceworks running on? Is it allowed through your Firewall? I've just checked on my install on iPhone and all ok user = spiceworks registered eMail address pwd - ??? server = ip:443
-
PDQ-Inventory only good for Windows - If any Linux / printers / Access Points / Routers etc you need something more - I would then lean towards Spiceworks (no I don't work for them :-) )
-
I would really look at Spiceworks. http://www.spiceworks.com It has full inventory, License management, Helpdesk, User Portal and all for free - you can even have OnPrem or Hosted If you need any help setting up - I have done many a setup for them - and I could also find someone near you if you have issues. Best thing is install on your pc first and try it - and if you like it then put it on any Windows server which has spare CPU cycles and good disks, or just leave on your machine
-
I have just checked and I can login fine
