Yes this is a Chrome thing, having a lot of friends asking about this as started turning up on their machines too. I let them know that they are the ones which agreed to the notifications, but I would disable them through GPO and then inform staff as well on a bulletin type thing as seeing it more outside of work too

We have used Zen for about 15 years, never looked back. Moved with them through broadband to LME to current Cable connection. Would really recommend, and like @ibpalle, when we did need to ring them about an issue their support teams know nearly everything about their systems so not just talking to "ticket-logging first line people". Longest we have been down is when moving from one product to another at a weekend.

On the website is also the DISM/GPO setting to help as well, as you may just need that

Good Afternoon people We have a Wireless network but we are not sure how secure it is due to having no documentation from the last IT guy, it just worked so no-one queried it. Is there any minimum regulations that the DfE require or can we set it up the most secure we can (proabably call in WiFi specilaist for this) as not planning to replace the equipment if we can help it. Note - no suggestions on equipment manufacturers yet as what we have may be sufficient just may need re-configuring, but if not I know I will get the normal responses of Ubiquiti / Ruckus / Meraki ... answers when I ask for it. Hi, the Nest uses geolocation on the phones (when app installed) to detect whether home or away, and also the thermostat has motion detection on it too. You can put the app on many phones, so if the main person goes out it doesn't turn the schedule off until all phones are away and then gives it 20 mins or so, just in case you have popped to shops :-) Again we can put the heating on when on the way home so nice when home, esle it uses the schedule. We never have a problem with it, and no subscription which is best too

I can only respond as using Nest - but it uses your internet to get back to their network which you then login to using the app, it then shows you your device (and in the case of mine my cameras in the house too) No VPN needed. I do have all house IoT devices on their own wifi SSID VLAN so no one in the house can muck around with them, unless logged into my account

I have Nest and it works a treat. I still have TRVs on all the Rads though so I can still change the temp in a room if I feel like it, and it does similar to the Tado and detects when you are Home/Away and learns in the first couple of months your routine and creates the Boiler times for you

25Mbps on a 100Mbps network sounds about right 60Mbps over 450Mbps wireless network sounds about right too Now if you had 1GB LAN I would expect higher speeds

Each Electric meter (phase) has some electronics wizardry in them which stops any frequencies/blow backs/short circuits etc etc from traversing them hence why data will NEVER leave your Electric meter, so that will explain the tests that people have done next door and they don't work. Also this is why when you blow a trip it doesn't take half the street out :-) They are perfectly safe to use and are as secure as you make them - i.e. if you have a wireless powerline device and put a rubbish password on it (so not using built in one) then it will probably be hacked if someone wants to. If you use WiFi powerline then I normally use their tool and change it to the same as their home router and just put it on a different channel than the router. So if the router is running Channel 1 then use 6 or 11 as these do not overlap and cause collisions. Hope this helps

So just make sure you get the join in the right place and include a space if needed If you still cannot put it in one record then create two records with the same name and it will concatenate them together

Yes as they are two different actions 1 - Installing Software 2 - Configuring software Makes for much better managment and as long as other part disabled Plus you may need different configs for Pupils / Staff - I for example have two Proxies controlled by the LA and one if for staff and one Pupils, so when each logs in they get the correct Proxy but the installation of the software is the same on that one machine

I personally have sets of GPOs and the Computer Config is ALWAYS separate to the User Config with the other part disabled just in case. Makes it much easier to maintain. Yes you have more of them but then you know where to look if it is a computer or user issue In answer to your question yes the User GPO would have to be in or a 'Parent of' the OU the user is in. If one of yours is working I would assume it is in a parent OU hence why it propagates down to where the user is

As it's speed you are looking for - like others have said I would look at the SIMS DB first. Also you may be able to look at indexing on the SQL DB as we used to have one accounting app a while back that used to take 45 mins to run some major queries. Once I was allowed at it (on test environment first of course) I found the indexes were getting out of whack every day. I ran a re-index job at around 5 in the morning on the important tables and suddenly these queries were running in 4 mins flat - I was popular I can tell you. SIMS of course could have some default index jobs but who knows really except Capita. Second option - move to Enterprise SSD disks just for the SQL DB and make sure NOT Raid 5

I would also consider a HP Microserver (can get from eBay if you want) and put in some big/SSD disks - max out the Ram and install Hyper-V / VMWare as it's only a test environment

I would change for a NUC or Vesa based PC and screw the mount that comes with it to the wall. Much easier. Or better still Display over Network cabling, then PC can be in your room and fully protected - depends really what it is being used for. If staff need access to it the putting it in cage or high shelf won't help you.
