I dont watch much, but it was reasonably good to watch. England had a bit of a poor show, but eh, it happens.

Well I support a good game when it comes to cricket.

Not usually much of a fan of cricket (slow pace games and I dont really get on). However this England v India game is amazing. Such a fast pace game, loving it today!

You are not wrong. I don't mind on some favours (I helped a neighbour build his shed, in return I got some beers etc). But some try to take the mick a bit. Example 3 weeks ago, my brothers brother-in-law (his mrs brother) asked if I could help with their garden, you know, design and help with the work. Said ok, went to the garden (was an overgrown mess), and got measurements. I designed the garden for him, he was happy with the design, but when I said I would have to charge to do it because of the work that would be needed to just cut the grass, remove the brambles etc, he was annoyed and thought I'd do it for free. Carpentry is fine for the most part as people tend to pay for what I make, and because I enjoy it, using a lathe, or plane by hand to do benches etc it is a fun exercise for me. But some people try to get things for free. If I work on something and I don't get paid, I keep whatever I've made until they pay for it (they have 2 weeks) or it goes on the local facebook selling page with them tagged in on the post.

@Oaktech the plan is to have a switch going, nothing else. If I want to do Auth, I'll set up the wifi to do it so that only certain named devices can connect.

When I own my own home (properly, and not having someone else do the mortgage and hold the deeds until we pay it off), I will be doing the following (and the mrs has agreed). Cat 6 (or whatever is current) cabling in the house. 2 ports per room should be sufficient. Will lead to a switch which will likely be housed in the master bedroom. Additional plug sockets. Each set of 2 in the house will be increased to a set of 6, and each individual socket will be increased to a set of 2. Solar Panels - will ensure I can get solar on the house, no questions asked. Automatic lighting (for the bathroom and kitchen). I've seen someone on here thats done it (can't remember who, but it was posted on my dad site, and the member came from here). Build a small brewery in the cellar/basement (or have one dug out for me to build into). They are my projects for a new house. IT wise, I am not so much getting bored, but placated. Whilst I learn more aspects of IT (programming, networking, cloud, hardware etc), I find the job market is still very limiting unless you move to a big city. Unfortunately, that isn't really ideal for us. *edit* Hobby wise - I brew beer and wine. I forage for wild fruit, nuts, veg, and herbs. I hunt. I fish. I learn new skills (I am a fully qualified Landscape Gardener, Welder and Carpenter). I have a lifetime membership to the Trades houses of Glasgow, inducted to Carpentry, Tailoring, Weavers, Maltmen and Masons.

I am too. If not for the fact that I have almost free reign internet wise (obvious things like pr0n are blocked), and can play games on the PC at lunch (full on games, like Tropico, EU4, CK2, ETS2 etc) I would have gone a while ago. I am slowly turning a hobby into something successful however. I brew a lot of drinks at home, and use them for barbecues, friends parties etc. Many people enjoy that they are made locally (some cases literally right next door), and that I am willing to trade for them (I can't sell them). I'll take a dozen fresh eggs from my neighbours chickens for a bottle of wine for example. Current brews are a light ale, dark ale, elderflower wine, blackberry wine, and cherry schnapps. I have enough for 60 bottles of light ale, 60 bottles of dark ale, 30 bottles of elderflower wine, and 30 bottles of blackberry wine.

This man is right on the money. I asked the conveyancing department here, they said you can ask for a lower price, however if you have already agreed, then you have shot yourself in the foot. Also, doing a full rewire (and keeping the documents with the deeds of the house etc) will add value to the house.

I did just that a few years ago (well 5 years now). Bought in HP, Meru, Xirrus, Ruckus, Cisco etc. Did reasonably thorough tests on the device, same tests on each one. Ruckus came out top, Meru second, Cisco 3rd, notable performance from Xirrux. Shortcomings from Aruba, HP, Belkin and DLink. I had contact from Meru, Xirrus, Cisco and Aruba, all of whom improved their technology.

@WifiWizard they'll only test in conditions specific to show that theirs is faster, as such you can skew the results anyway you want. I could make my own wifi access point, and skew results so it is 100% faster than all the others.

Went to the London one, it was pretty good However do not expect to get things autographed unless you pay for it, and never ever get anything personalised on a comic as you ruin the value.

well...for my mrs in particular (and her sister) he was already a phwoar....so its just a role reversal. FYI in Norse mythology, loki turned Thor into a woman for a period of time (and also a goat among other creatures)
