Lync 2010 which call management software to use
Kogelkopper replied to Kogelkopper's topic in Enterprise Software
Hi Domino, Our receptionist tried the attendent but found it difficult to use, besides this experience, the attendent cannot give information to the caller, how many waiting callers are in queue in front of them. -
Hi everybody, We are a school which has Lync 2010 enterprise installed. At this moment we are looking for options to buy "a simple to use" call management software. This will be used by our receptionists. The software needs to be able to create a menu with choosing options. And the caller needs to be informed with how many callers are waiting in the queue in front of them. Does anybody have a good solution for this? Thanks in advance!! Best regards, Leon Timmer

Hi Steve, Your thinking is right Thanks for your reply, this is what I already know, I was wondering if you could give this info to a specific shortcut, so the shortcut starts with that config. Like when you start Microsoft Word and drag it to the screen on the left, close Microsoft Word, start it up again and it opens on the left screen. Something like that.

Hi guys, We are running Windows 7 on our clients and I was wondering if the following is possible: Our colleagues from administration use a webbased administration program, and they want that program displayed over the 2 displays. Is this an option in the shortcut options or something? Their display settings are expand (so 2 independed displays not 2 displays as 1), and they want to keep this option. The displays are configured with the same resolutions (1280x1024) The pc's have onboard display adapters (HP Compaq 600 Pro SFF) Thanks in advance!! Best regards Leon

Hi Ass17, If you are using roaming profiles, windows mail could be the problem, we have made a GPO for the PC wich disables the installation of windows mail. This is the policy: Hive HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE Key path SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Active Setup\Installed Components\{44BBA840-CC51-11CF-AAFA-00AA00B6015C} Value name IsInstalled Value type REG_DWORD Value data 0x0 (0) You can create this under Computer Configuration\Preferences\Windows Settings\Registry This will speed up the process 10 to 15 seconds, at least! Good luck!! Best Regards, Leon

Hi Jralph, Check this out: Best Practice: Roaming Profiles and Folder Redirection (a.k.a. User State Virtualization) What also helped for us was disabling microsoft mail, everytime the user logged on, the setup started running, because the profile was mandatory. Good luck!! Best regards, Leon Timmer

We are currently installing our WLAN. This is a seperate network next to our wired LAN. The wired users are connected to shares via network drives and we would like to keep this functionallity. The wireless users, who connect to sharepoint, are all known in active directory, but their devices are not domain devices. We would like to make it possible for our wireless users to connect to the network shares/drives via Sharepoint. Is this possible through some sort of hyperlink in a portal page? And is this possible through remote access? Like working at home? Thanks in advance!! Best regards, Leon

Windows 7 Slow Initial Logon from Cold Boot, Fast Second Logon
Kogelkopper replied to netadmin's topic in Windows 7
I think it has something to do with the moment you log on. What i mean is the following: When you directly press Ctrl+Alt+del when you see it, logon will go slow (with us it takes like 1 minute), when you wait a half a minute, the logon procedure will go much faster (about 20 second). I'm working on our migration to Windows 7, GPO, Mandatory profile and so on...... -

Finch, Can you check if the following works: replace the %systemroot%\system32\shutdown.exe with C:\Windows\System32\shutdown.exe in the program script area and remove %systemroot%\system32 and leave it (blanc). And test again? -

Maybe try what FN-GM said, make a scheduled task wich runs a bat/vbs/xml script which shuts down the pc. -

Does the user backup have enough rights to shutdown the pc? Maybe test this with a special shutdown account, wich has enough rights on the local machine? Maybe try the option: Run with highest privilege -
ESX Hosts Memory Upgrade
Kogelkopper replied to Tallwood_6's topic in Thin Client and Virtual Machines
Hi, We have upgraded our DL585 G2 to 64 Gb each and had no problems. ESX discovers the memory automaticly. You do need to check how much memory your server can handle. And make sure that you use the same type of memory modules which are already placed. I mean clock speed en brand. If you cannot buy the same modules anymore, it's wyse to replace the excisting mem modules. And finally do a memory check before running ESX, if there are any faults it's better to check first than go live and have bigger problems! :-) Good luck, Leon -
Hi there, We are looking for a software product, wich can reproduce school timetables and other school info. There are other terms of demands like: Central Management (internal, not through VPN/webbased like connections) Direct sync of timetable changes, so changes are directly visible for the students Supports Audio User friendly I would really apreciate it Thanks in advance Leon "Kogelkopper"

Hi guys, We have a Windows 2008 R2 domain and i was wondering if there is a way to limit the number of characters in a file name while saving. Our students sometimes click on save while the filename is equal to the first couple of sentences of a Word Document. This occurs mainly in Office 2007 Thanks in advance, Leon
