  1. How does this compare to OnLive ? I tried that for a little bit when my gaming PC was getting too old to play the latest games. I found it "acceptable". i.e. it wasn't as good using OnLive for games I could play on PC at the time, e.g. Batman, but on the plus side I got to play soem games I couldn't play at all on my PC. I remember at the time thinking the blurb made it sound like Citrix/RDP for games so was sceptical, but was pleasantly surprised. This seems like OnLive taken to the next level? it's quite pricey though isn't it at £26.95pm, not compared to buying a branding spanking new gaming PC, but you could buy the latest consoles for less (not trying to start a war here, honest ) BUT it does theoretically mean you can play the latest and greatest games on Linux
  2. When I worked in London, when going home from weekend if I got a beer on the train Friday night, I'd get Bass, as it tasted less tinny then other canned beers. When I was in the supermarket recently I thought it was odd all these premium "craft" ales in cans, not bottles, I would have thought it would ruin the taste. Either cans are better now, cans are so much cheaper than bottles to produce they use cans, cans are easier to stack, a mixture of that, or as you say we were brainwashed?
  3. In Lidl today I got some "Patronus" Weissbier - 1.25 a 500ml bottle Erdinger Weissbier is one of my favourite beers so I'm hoping this is close
  4. I "discovered" IPA when I was at college some 20odd years ago (Green King etc), and enjoyed real ales, and I like some of these "modern" craft beers, and pale ales, but I don't understand the obsession with making them grapefruity, a few I get past a couple fo mouthfuls and that's enough. I think it comes down to lots of clever marketing, if ppl like them fine, but Brewdog (personally I think Punk IPA is vastly overrated bu that's cos its alcholic grapefruit jouce ) have sort of created a rod for their own back, they found a niche, exploited it, now there's a billion "craft" ales with wierd and wonderful names and packages. Like the Lidl beers, are quite nice, good value for money, they were Marstons, now Shepherds Neame, or vice versa, rebadged as "craft" hatherwood Craft beer co. but they have silly names it's like gin, gin used to be Gordon's or Beefeater, now there's a billion varieties, and you "have" to make sure you drink the correct tonic with the correct gin?!?!? yes, we're getting old, don't like these new fangled drinks. Directors and Bass were 2 favevourits of mine at college, can you still get them? i don't go to pub much.
  5. good work :{ here's mine it's a shame they sent out the "half mast" mo, suggesting shave off half, mid morning, I would have done that id they had suggested it last night
  6. Certainly worth a watch, not exactly pleasant viewing, but eye opening, interesting, and horrible. I wonder what the kids will think? When I was a kid, I watched Blackadder with my dad. The very last episode of Goes Forth, I looked at him and said "They didn't really do that did they?" As Over the top seemed ridiculous Seeing it rather than just reading about it, totally different things
  7. i suppose it would be helpful to have 3 choices onsite offsite absent that way absent would cover leave or sick, and staff woudl know not to try and contact you on mobile etc. offsite they'd know you're working but could be on another site, in training etc?
  8. that's pretty good pricing, i subscribe to PS Plus, but that's more for the "free" games, i forget how much I pay as I usually wait till there's a good deal on HUKD and top up then, but it's more than that I may have to investigate as with the announcement of Animal Crossing overnight, I'm pretty sure the other half will inform me we need one
  9. I've "enjoyed" watching it, but rarely laughed, it's more interesting, and scary at what ppl will say and do, and it time shocking and therefore sad Last episode especially, the guy who afterwards says he wouldn't be a sheep the one thing that did make me chuckle was the end credits in last episode I would put spoiler tags if it was possible... special publicity consultant
  10. [h=1]Sacha Baron Cohen ridicule prompts Georgia lawmaker to quit[/h] https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-44949504
  11. when I was at uni, during the holidays, I'd do various temp jobs, working in warehouses, drivers mate etc. Now and again, the regulars there would try get you to do something impossible, ask their mate for a left handed screwdriver, find some tartan paint etc, but I remember saying to these guys "I know there's no such thing as that", or occasionally go along with the prank, as it was easier than arguing, but this is scary what these ppl will say or do when asked
  12. wasn't impressed, didn't like the last album much, this video seems to continue their trend of "shocking video" (which was good first few times they did it) and some average music
  13. just watched it, brilliant, I think, like Brass Eye, you laugh, then want to cry at what some of the people are saying. Who Is America? - All 4
  14. Just watched Who is America. Who Is America? - All 4 reminded me of Brass Eye, laughing, then not sure whether I should be laughing, or crying, then reaching for the remote thinking, "WTF did that guy just say?"
  15. i remember when i went through a period of distro hopping, this was a few years ago, and I had an old pii 450 i was trying distros on (my current p2 at the same was an amd 3800 so the pii 450 was old then.) ubuntu and family were slow, debian was ok, so I went for slack, and it was usable I even installed KDE4 on it and it worked! unfortunately at the time I wanted something that I could just use easily, rather than have to learn Linux to use, so it got replaced by something else. actually i remember using Absolute on that machine as well, based on Slack which was really good
  16. eBuyer sell zoostorm, not had one myself, but I know some ppl like the fact you can buy without OS, and just buy the base unit i think Medion ones are good value for money aren't they, Sainsbury's has them as well sometimes, I think often they're 1/2 price in supermarkets here as they're last gen processors etc so they just want to get rid cheaply.
  17. Hope you had fun, was annoyed that today, around the time they played, Dead Cross announced 1 UK headline show, in London, tomorrow
  18. a few years I was tempted to go when Faith No More were playing, but was glad I didn't have to as they did a couple of London dates, so went to one of them instead. I was hoping that Dead Cross was do at least one other UK date as I don't want to go there just to see them. I think most of the artists there, I'd like to see, I've seen already(GNR, BodyCount, Less than Jake, Napalm Death, Rolo Tamassi) and I'm too old for festivals these days Actually I don't know who most of the bands are, although I would like to see Meshuggah, but it's a lot of money to see 2 bands who won't do a full set
  19. Richie Cunningham saves the day Solo was awesome, a bit long maybe, but made up for the The Last Jedi
  20. have you tried the covering it in rice trick to get all the moisture out? not much good now, but mine and the missus' have dropbox installed which auto uploads photos to dropbox
  21. they need to make more of these films, just so there's an excuse to make the silly shorts
  22. tickets are on sale now
  23. Solo tickets are on sale now
  24. maybe I'll get my pII 450 with Diamond Viper 500 (Nvidia Riva TNT) down from the loft
  25. #ShareTheOrange I remember the Louis Theroux about dementia being sad, showing it's not just elderly who can suffer from it. I saw the above video from Tony Hawk's facebook page https://www.facebook.com/TonyHawk/po...56414561309695 he has posted about the pain of visiting his mum, who sometimes doesn't know who he is
