can you ctrl alt f1 and log into terminal did all those words that zoomed up the screen have anything meaningful? you've skipped a couple of versions, I think the login screen may have had some changes/got replaced, I use mint so I'm a bit hazy if it was a mint specific thing, but doesn't officially support upgrades, and I remember for one you had to manually uninstall something, and install something else round the login page sorry that's so vague, it was a while ago, but where I'm going in a roundabout way, is if you can log in to command prompt, you could say install xfce, or lxdm which might replace a broken thing.

i've had mine afew weeks, I was on a hub2, but when i had a phonecall asking if I wanted a 4 for free, I thought, "why not". the only problem i had was some of the older laptops kept disconnecting from the wifi, I had forgotten to set 2 IDs, one for each frequency, apparently the auto detection things isn't great so that causes problems, but since I've done a 4g and 2g one, I have no issues.

my elderly parents asked me for advice (they're in UK), and I suggested Tesco, probably cheapest contract they do, and one of the cheapest Samsung phones they do, they seem happy enough, does the job - i..e my mum takes some photos puts them on facebook now and again, but she mostly wasnts to see pics of grandkids, other family, and keep in touch with relatives overseas. they don't have home broadband, so only internet they do is on phone, which isn't too much, so they use wifi in library, or when they could come here/go to my aunt's house. they cope with it ok, they don't know how to use a computer, haven't asked me many questions at all which i'm surprised about (true story when helping my mum on my laptop, when i said move mouse up, she did lift the mouse up in the air!)

i rebooted my phone last night before i went to bed, left gps and bluetooth on, and overnight my battery hardly went down, so that's good

I'm using Android One, battery has gone down 11% in last hour, which is a lot to me, but, i don't usually have gps or bluetooth on. apparently the app is using 1%,

I would have though one of the main reasons for the purchase would be to get some AAA exclusives well in advance. "nice" of the them to honour the already announced games. Bit like when they bought Bungie plenty of time to find out anyway

This means the missus will want us to shift to XBox from PlayStation, as the only games she played on ps3 and ps4 are the skyrim and fallout games, and since the new ones of those are quite some time off, they're bound to be PC and XBox only

If you're a fan it's worth a watch, pretty interesting and funny, learned some stuff, some stuff I knew, some stuff I thought I knew but now the truth is out, or a different version of the truth
