Ok - so is anybody on here watching Line of Duty?... absolutely love it! Always have.. but last night ... from an IT perspective - a few things happened that shouldn't ( wouldn't?) happen in real life.. Security needs looking at is alls i'm saying.... lol
-
It lasted with me for days after I finished watching it - and yes very well done cinematography wise...

Just picking this issue up on a rebuild of a macbook.. installed Chrome - safari working fine via proxy and protex cert, and google can be accessed from safari, but not directly from google chrome install... any one got the bottom of this yet?.. Rebuilt an imac yesterday and no issues with this at all.. this the macbook today... TIA
-
@TomCollins - will take a look at this - thanks
-
Thanks @Bedders.. I am planning on rebuilding the imac at some point so will have a play around then.. :-)
-
Thanks for replying @Bedders... I've googled it to death and every suggestion that I've tried the imac is asking for old password. Problem is it is MY network username and password. I've changed it probably a few times since I logged onto that particular imac so can't remember what it might have been ( exhausted the ones it could be..) It's something I'd like to get to the bottom of as currently have to tell AD joined mac users that they can't change their passwords.. not great for security.. Had an SLT change his password on macbook and now any other macbook he logs into ( that he used as a spare - and his imac is complaining)... Am i safe to go in as admin and delete ALL login keychains?... what damage will I do?... Ps - tried authenticating with admin user login and it wasn't having it.. :-/
-
Grrr.. just came across this issue today.. did the create a new keychain and it still asked for old password ... what is the correct method for this?.. is it not always consistent?..
-
So what is the right choice ( and consequences? )
-
13 Reasons Why - ok so it's based on YA book .. but having read reviews and it popping up on my Netflix as a must see - thought I would give it a try and was half expecting to give up half way through episode 1... hooked and binge watched to the penultimate episode... till 1am this morning.. very well done and draws you in..

Ah - yes.. Windows 10 ... forgot about that ... clinging onto 7 for as long as I can for the few windows devices we have [emoji15] .. another pro for macs there lol
-
It's not an easy one ... pros and cons for both.. windows machines cheaper , but don't last as long, logins begin to be a pain once updates start to kick in etc... bloat ware...

Being a primary and using GAFE extensively, once the macs are joined to AD, and ARD, they seem to manage very well here. Any new staff who are new to Apple, after initial training and pointers seem to work it out and manage well also. I tried to set up a mac server, but haven't really missed it since it kind of died following a server rebuild.. Repairs are done by a local company where we have built up a good working relationship.. Though not sure how long that would work if Apple keep changing their specs.. Accessories can be costly.. My only bugbear is that Office staff got moved to iMacs ( inherited decision) and they still struggle when dealing with windows specific software they need more than teachers.. we have also almost moved away from office for teachers.. not many using it now..so could ditch the licensing for that..

Just come across this post - interested in more views on this... Potential new build coming up. We are a macbook for teachers school with imacs and mac minis around as well.. opportunity to save money and get decent windows machines.. but veering towards sticking to macbooks ?... initial cost high.. and maintenance can be costly but... (barring accidents) good longevity and fairly easy to manage... Thoughts?...

Not sure where to post this.. have a primary student who has created an account with imvu.com ( and avatar building and chatting website) parent wants to know how to disable it...safety issue Googling it requires you to initially log back in before you can disable the account.. before I advise the parent to do this ( assuming the child has logged in with an email account rather than via FB or twitter) just wondered if any one has come across this and successfully disabled - deactivated - deleted an account? TIA

Thanks @NikChillin - will take a look at the USB settings on the board
-
Thanks for that @ComcenCraig - I've just raised a support ticket with them. Just that it seems to be a recurring theme and I'm not feeling overly confident about the drivers and software as they don't seem to be consistent so was more wondering if others had a similar issue and how / if it was resolved satisfactorily ... thanks though..

Anybody using Genee Boards that have calibration / interactivity issues with the latest OPS-UNIT? Can't seem to get a consistent approach from Genee regarding the best drivers to use... Always end up having to re-install drivers or different versions... Bought a new OPS-UNIT that had Windows 10 on it originally - nothing worked so installed Windows 7 SPI on it . Worked for a couple of days and now have just been told that the board lost interactivity for around 20 minutes ... Am i missing something?.. feeling frustrated !
