  1. config.office.com turn on cloud updates and never look back.
  2. Is your Smoothwall the Firewall too?
  3. Hi, We are considering using Smoothwall Edge extension for filtering. Historically we have always used Smoothwall as a proxy server either setting proxy IP details or WPAD which means traffic doesn’t travel through it as a default route. My concern is using the extension I will need to give each client direct access to the internet, instead of just the proxy server. I’d be interested to hear peoples methods of getting the Smoothwall box in line for the secret knock to work, I’m not keen on involving Smoothwall in the routing process though as I’d like to leave that to the switches. My main concern is if someone unplugs a network port and plugs another unmanaged device in they would effectively have unfiltered internet access. We do not use Smoothwall as a Firewall, only filtering. Thanks
  4. Yes, that would make life so much easier if we did!
  5. We currently access Corero Resource32000 via Terminal Servers. These terminal servers are now and of life. Running the client locally on each PC by copying the IQ folder and ODBC connections seemed the obvious solution to lose these servers. This worked fine on our test, but once we opened it up to all users it seems to be suffering performance issues and slowing right down for everyone, even though it’s the same amount of users but just connecting a different way. The server has plenty of free resource it just doesn’t seem to play well over the wan with the client with a lot of users. Does anyone have any experience of this and can suggest some things to check?
  6. Have a script which runs on an evening every other day. SCCM Version 2111 (problem existed in previous version also). Yes only products we need are ticked. It literally started happening straight after the SQL 2017 upgrade.
  7. Recently we upgraded SCCM from SQL 2012 to SQL 2017. Ever since we have found that the Software Update Point Synchronization is now taking 1 hour 45 minutes to sync in the console from Microsoft Update and then show as completed, in the WSUS console though it is showing as finished in minutes. Has anyone seen this before? Thanks
  8. No nothing seems to work, and yes as they have not installed said updates. Really strange...
  9. I have a somewhat strange issue where SCCM updates will stop coming through on Servers after a few weeks of working successfully - all maintenance windows are ignored and any new Windows updates are not delivered. After a reboot the servers will successfully then download the latest updates again and reboot during maintenance windows. Can anyone suggest any way of fixing this? Many thanks
