I did a clean install on my MBP core 2 duo and all went fine. I had no problems. I had installed Leopard server first though before installing client but both worked fine. My brother has just updated his client from tiger to leopard and has run into a few issues. Mainly the fact that mobile accounts don't seem to be able to sync back to the Tiger server. They keep failing. So a little heads up for those looking to deploy Leopard clients on laptops with mobile home accounts on laptops while keeping a Tiger server running. There is also a few more people with this (or similar) issue in the Apple discussions under the portable homes section.

Why couldn't they have just added it to the IE7 GP template?

ffmpeg for windows. I have used ffmpegx and thats ok so i shoul d think the windows version about the same.

can't believe i forgot to reboot. But if the font gets deleted and then re-copied and then re-registered, will it just turn into a continuous loop?

Does anyone remember operation on the amiga. Man that was good. You had to diagnose the problem with the patient by poking around at his stomach "ooh,haa,ow,owww,ohh" the patient cried. So funny then you took them to theatre. It was what trauma centre should have been.

How do you guys deploy your fonts? I have found some scripts which are suppose to del the fonts if found and then recopy them into the systemroot / fonts folder. It then goes on to register these fonts using a .reg file. However after i had placed the batch file into a group policy linked to an OU it does not run the script. I manually ran it at the client and then confirmed that the fonts were indeed in the fonts folder. I opened word 2003 and found that they were not in the fonts list? How can i resolve this issue. It has been ongoing now for a bit and staff are starting to complain now. Hope you can help. Thanks.

Chase HQ with the Humungous arrow saying you'll never catch this guy. And space harrier with the moving chair. First of its kind along with Manx TT. Me and my brothers tried to relive those times down the arcade witha copy of Space Harrier on the Mega drive and my moms dinig chair. One plays one moves the chair the same direction as the character goes. Great fun and slightly dangerous considering the violent jerks you sometimes got.

I played a car one similar to that where you dodged the traffic. Can't remember who made it though. I think it was blue/red. Looks similar to a tomy one now but better graphics :-) I also had the Grandstand Console as well.

Did anyone ever have Friday 13th on the amstrad? Took about 45 minutes just to load the digitised scream during the loading of the game. Took an absolute age to load. Project X (shoot em up on amiga). Magic Pockets. Valhalla I,II,and III Xenon megablast Cool game and great sound to go with it. I was an avid gamer back in my day. No wonder i don't know anything now.

I used to love Automan. Watched all the episodes on a Betamax tape recorder. :-)

hyper sports on amstrad but before that Daly Thompson Decathlon. Excellent blister makers they were. My uncle managed to get the shot put at least three screens length. We looked on in amazement. I forgot to mention Robocop on the Amiga. What a game based on a film. Nearly as good as Batman the Movie.

My old man spent around 2 years trying to get flyspy working in the tape deck. He tweaked those pots like mad!! And meltdown on the old amstrad. Toook an absolute age to load and wasn't even any good. Locomotion. Spikey Harold. Does anyone remember wriggler II races? A worm running (?) a race and went through hell (literally) and other areas.

Gryzor on the amstrad. Sequal was contra on snes i think. Midnight resistence. Played that not long ago on the xbox. Diddy Kong racing. I played this over christmas for 72 hours solid. Got to the end where you had to fly against the big bloke. Head over Heels. Deperate Dan. Bruce lee on the amstrad. Yei ha kung foo. I clocked this until it went into the alphabet. Speedball 2- Brutal deluxe. On the Amiga was the best version. Had last match to win the 1st division but my cousin decided he would like to play the last one and lost. I would have battered him senseless but i was too bust crying:-( Army Moves Navy Moves Navy Seal Game Over I do remember a game where you start as a naked man/monkey looking guy and then you get a blue astronaught type of suit and then it gets really good. What was it called?

Does anyone remeber the "knight" franchise. Spellbound was one of them and finders keepers. Knight time and a few more. Great RPGs of their time they were. Very similar to the way Dizzy worked. And sabrewulf? a Rare title for the amstrad and speccie. Also the mastertronic series, especially roland in the caves. Man that game was impossibe. I managed to get off the first screen and then died. You had a fair few lives if i recall correctly but had to start from the beginning if you lost one. Didn't beat it. And also the last Ninja series on the commadore great series although the last one not too good. Apparently they are trying to remake it in 3d though for the next gen consoles. And shadow of the beast on the Amiga. My brother beat it fair and square and man he did good to do that. Boulderdash construction kit was awesome. Best construction modeller ever. And lastly (but not least) Vampire on the amstrad? Wow. I only know of one person who could play that game, my old man. He got to the the very end where you had to peddle the bike to lower the drawbridge but it wouldn't work. haha, man he was not happy. Good times they were. Oh how i miss them. If i remember any more i will post them. PS never beat sorcerer +. Had too many games on the go.

My first machine i realy played games on was the Amstrad cpc464 then it went to th 6128 with the disk drive. I played sorcerer + (i think thats what it was called) needed to be pixel perfect. I loved the game feud and was about half a spell of from caining that bald guys ass. I then moved up to Amiga (500,500+,600,1200) and first game i played on that was Who framed Roger Rabbit. Good fun, took an age to load though. Also treasure Island dizzy. Best on the Amiga. Also Starray, perhaps the best shootem up ever to be released and you cannot forget the batman the movie game on the amiga. So close toteh film it is impossible to beat and a great game, slinging the batarang out the windows and swinging round the poles. Also the best rally gaem was released on the Amiga and IMO nothing has come close yet. RAC lombard Rally. I then moved to the atari St fm and then STe (i htink that way around) and played a few games (chaos engine stands out the most). Good machine but not many good games. Then came my first go on the Acorn electron where i played hopper, pacman and a few others,not many. I forgot to mention the commadore 16 / 64 fire-ant, bounty bob strikes back? May have been on the amstrad. I then progessed onto the Megadrive. should really say Genesis as the first one was a japanese one. Played Thunderforce 3. What a solid game. Then we (brothers and me) beat ESWAT, Sonic 1, Altered Beast, Alien Storm,DJ Kid, and many many more in the first week of owning it. Then came the SNES. Perhaps my favourite machine ever. I loved the Legend of Zelda. All time fave. Super Mario World (apparently a secret level but never found it). Played many otehr RPG games on this too. I then moved on to the PS1. Good games there. Wipeout, Tunnel B1 (another solid game), Grand Turismo, Tekken etc. I proceeded to move to the N64 (Mario was calling again) whilst my old man moved to saturn the Dreamcast. Dreamcast i thought was very underrated. It had good potential. Power Stone any one? MSR was a really good game which moved on to being the Project Gotham series. N64 Goldeneye? Played all night more than once, and for sheer originality the best game on there was Blast Corps. superb game. So now brings me to the last gen the Xbox. And like most here would say is where the games start concentrating on the wrong content. gone the playability in favour of more exciting cut-scenes. Woot i can really play those. (They wonder why piracy is rife but when you look at £40+ for a game you get it home and it is S**t, you feel really peived.) I hacked the old xbox adn slapped the mame emu, amiga emu, snes emu, gameboy emu, sega megadrive emu, and ps1 emu. Back to the good old days. My new machine is the Wii solely for the unique playing styles and virtual console. Sure it'll get boring soon but at least i'm not doing the same old crap i have been for the last 20 years (the wii i mean). Sorry to ramble on but it is one of my favourite subjects, past games. PS this is the short version. Starfox, Lylat Wars, Golden Axe, blah blah blah... PPS sorry but got to mention FFVII. Loved playing that game!! Anyone here beat all three weapons?

We primarily use it on the OS X side of our boot camp setup so as to give a Colour Magic alternative. This fills the gap quite nicely so whatever partition they have booted from they get to draw with a simple to use app. Great stuff. Glad to hear of a few more users out there.

Don't know if anyone has mentioned this but it is a little paint app mainly for primary schools really but i enjoyed trialling it out Tux Paint It is IMO on par with RMs colour Magic and it is available to download for OS X, Windows and Linux. It is still being developed (new release out in November apparently) and its FREE. I honestly recommend anyone working for primnary schools to check it out. Great fun. Stamps available to download too and again free. Pretty good stamps as well and library is quite large. They do also scale although some not so well. My 2 year old son loves it!! Anyhow just thought i would mention it.

How much are the cals for exchange per user? If say you have 1800 pupils that you wish to access exchange from home then how much would it cost?

Just to update this. The Apple Time Service seems to start when logging in and then syncs the time (You can see the time change if you keep an eye on it). I disabled this and then joined to the domain. After restarting the XP clients sync their time with the AD server. I then ran rsop.msc and no errors were detected. Another few restarts and the deployed software started to come down to the clients. Worked for all the machines. Well one workaround any way. PS. Running Boot camp 1.3

dsconfigldap apparently has a problem where the -c switch is required as opposed to being optional as stated in the man page. This leaves me with a bit of a problem as i was trying to use it via ARD. How can i get around this without visiting all the clients manually? Is there a way i can populate a variable with the computerid and use it in the dsconfigldap command through ARD. Thanks for any help.

What would be nice is some sort of way to customise the ROM-based installed so it if dies then it just defaulted to the customised ROM. There should be a mthod where the instal can be performed post-purchase. Similar to a HP PDA upgrade.

Sound silly but have you called prometheans support number. The last time i supported one of these (about a year ago) it was pretty good. Resolved my issue promptly and was only on hold for about 2 minutes.
