  1. Thankyou Thankyou Thankyou! I've been trying to get this working on and off for a month or two. Yours is the first post I've come across that got me the correct menu appearing to choose between WDS and RIS. You're the first to mention using the two different boot programs in different places and that is what fixed it. Again, thankyou )
  2. I must admit for my personal situation this feels like the best news I've heard in a long time. I just wish some comments on the Internet and other media outlets would reflect the poor decisions so the average person can see how much money was been wasted and how many people were effected in a negative way.
  3. Not finding Version 6 as reliable as 5 though if I'm honest.
  4. It was Imperata that didn't work with XP so I moved to Sanako 100 and had trouble with that too. Now use ABTutor. What's Physics like?
  5. Oh I remember Sanako! Not used that in a loooong time. Used to be Imperata before that too.
  6. Just as the topic states really - have told SoftwareShelf but no help. We have groups for printers in different subject areas so each department can charge for printing if they like. The problem we're having is that when you open up a user to allocate funds to a printing group they have multiple listings, eg; Art Printers Cooking Printers Business Printers Business Printers Business Printers English Printers English Printers English Printers Maths Printers This was tolerable for the past few months where it could have been as above, but now we've got so some are listed around 50 times! Has anyone else experienced this? Windows Server 2003 R2 32bit Print Manager Plus 2010 8.0.133.86
  7. Was told today buy our BSF director in school that SUN Microsystems who had the contract for ICT provisions have pulled out of all Phase 3 contracts. They will continue to satisfy their commitments for previous phases, but have abandoned all plans for any others. I wonder where this leaves things....
  8. We've just recently started something like this using Bluesocket. Can print off timebased accounts for visitors or student laptops which just connect to a visible network and go straight onto the net, domain laptops automatically see and connect to a hidden SSID which can access our network.
  9. I use my Facebook to communicate with friends arranging things with them, finding old schoolmates, keeping in touch with relatives in Australia and sharing photos with family. I don't join lots of groups, add applications or do random quizes.
  10. I am trying this but with mixed results. I can get it to put a copy into my PST Sent Items but it then needs 'marking as read' and it also remains in my Mailbox Sent Items so then will need deleting from there also. I'm determined to find a better way than having a rule to move it, a rule to mark it read and a rule to do two deletions!
  11. I know it's not the proper method but it's served me well for tha past 7 years and not really wanting to change now lol.
  12. We use Exchange 2003 and I've just installed Outlook 2010. I've always had my computer set up to download all items from the server and save in a local PST file, all incoming mail is saved to the local Inbox and all Sent Items are stored in the local Sent Items box. Since installing 2010 incoming mail is working as above, getting moved from the server to the local PST file. Sent Items however are not. They are been stored in the server's Sent Items and if I want to move then from the server to the local PST file I have to do this manually. Any ideas on how to sort it? I've tried with Cached Mode on and off.
  13. mytyres.co.uk or blackcircles for me. Incidentally the last garage I went to get them fit would ave been cheaper if I'd shipped to them then got them fit.
  14. I was just wondering if running a simple complete backup with Windows Backup in Server 2008 would get everything I needed.
  15. At the moment we use BackupAssist to backup our SIMS installation but the server that does this is a bit flaky. We recently moved SIMS onto a new MS Windows Server 2008 installation and I was thinking of using the inbuilt backup software in that to do the backup to a locally attached drive to remove every night. Does anyone know if the inbuilt backup stuff would backup everything alright? I'd just be checking the 'Backup Everything on this Server' option. We use it on our DCs and File Servers with no issues.
  16. Ideally we don't need anything fancy just a quick easy AP thing...
  17. I need a Wireless Access Point so Sport can take registers in changing rooms/hall. I bought a cheap little G AP which shows a signal all the way to the side of the hall doesn't seem to actually work that far. Also there's a problem getting the signal in a changing room but can get the signal outside it at the opposite end to where the AP is. ______________ Router - - - - - - -|Changing Room | Outside Now I think that the changin room is acting like a faraday cage but I've been tasked with getting a more powerful AP anyway to try get a signal there and if not at least working across the hall.
  18. Don't put mush stock in low mileage nearly new cars. Get a Mk1 Seat Leon Cupra R and spent the change on a remap and a nice holiday cruise or something.
  19. Sorted nevermind.
  20. Hi, We are havin problems sending email outbound using Exchange 2003. Incidentally we're also having internet issues and have set ISA 2004 to use an old Upstream address. If upstream set to what it's meant to be then outbound email and internet access doesn't work, inbound email does. If upstream set to old address then outbound email doesn't work but internet access and inbound email does. If I look on the SMTP Virtual Server queues I get a message saying 'Unable to bind to the destination server in DNS'. When I look that problem up I get told to remove the DNS entries that are in there in which case the error message changes to 'SMTP could not connect to any DNS server'. Now we did have new internal DNS servers setup but I've been told the two won't be related as all internal things work fine. I've asked the ISP and they are looking into it.
  21. I've been searching and have found a brief guide on how to install SIMS on a new server. Anyway, it's very brief and wondered if there was an in depth walkthrough anywhere? I'm not messing with changing anything so please no 'go to SQL 2008' posts
  22. New equipment is tested at the factory so is classed as having been tested so will have 12/36 months till next one.
  23. We have 12 macs but no mac server. I run the install CD and then Disk Utility and then copy the disk to an external drive then repeat it back onto the other macs.
  24. Yeh, er, we have 50,000 computers here and I run the test on 10%....honest.
  25. To be honest right now we don't really. Don't suffer any issues. When WSUS was running it rolled out a patch that stopped them all logging in and it was one of those which didn't have the 'remove' option. Had to uninstall it from 500 computers by hand. Also slowed the network down quite a bit too. Will probably take another look nearer October and when we have Server 2008.
