  1. Since SYSMAN_MK has updated the EduGeek Joomla Package and created a new style with it I thought i should follow suit with the EduGeek Moodle Theme. So here goes....... Attached is a screenshot of progress so far, Im looking to find a few testers just to give it the once over to ensure everything is ship shape before releasing it to everyone. If anyone is intrested in testing the new EduMoodle Theme please let me know.... (Just like the previous version the theme will also be released on Moodle.org)
  2. I quite like this website, a lot of the files require Illustrator if you want to edit the source files. Free Vector Art - Download Free Vector Graphics and Vector Art at Vecteezy! Images like: http://static3.vecteezy.com/images/thumbnails/0000/0469/Flower-Tree.jpg?1186953934 Free Vector Art, Images & Graphics Quality Free Vector Graphics And a few others: 50 Websites For Free Vector Images Download | Graphics How about submitting back what you create to here? http://www.edugeek.net/forums/new-project-ideas/27521-graphics-design-service.html
  3. I have to confess that the design is really basic (I dont want to say poor). Yes that is the correct. layout that your seeing on the link i posted is how it should look. No wonder your not convinced when you compare it to: http://www.edugeek.net/forums/attachments/edugeek-joomla-1-5-package/2897d1231457002-new-1-5-package-under-construction-sysman_mk-example_orange.png
  4. I have a table full of statements teachers use to write there reports. they want all statements to begin with the students name (this code has been sorted) but to do this i need all the statements to start with '--fristname' How can i add '--firstname' to the beginning of all the strings stored in the table?
  5. Upload and installed: EduGeek
  6. I think its the SCORM module that decides when the activity is complete, I know Moodle doesnt really have full SCORM support for all the factors of the SCORM packages.
  7. I have heard through the grape vine that the Becta have released guidance on methods of Authentication online based on the level of sensitivity of the data the user is viewing. For instance user logs into School Portal where they can access links to school website, email and SIMS webparts. As soon as they attempt to access the SIMS webparts or data contained within they need to provide a higher level of authentication. In essence it would not be enough to provide another password at this point. Has anyone found this on the Becta website?
  8. Perk, thats why a lot of courses provided to schools/education have meals included in the price of the course.

    What Download?

Well I think you will have to download them all? Or download the DVD from a Torrent? But if you just want a web server why not just install Centos 4? http://anorien.csc.warwick.ac.uk/mirrors/centos/4.7/isos/i386/CentOS-4.7.ServerCD-i386.iso Thats why i did a week ago?
  10. Ok I used the file posted by TechMonkey, First problem with the zip file posted, I always unzip the files locally before uploading the zip to Moodle, the zip file looked like: C:\scormTest\uk_ks3_pytsc\files here.... The zip file should just be: C:\uk_ks3_pytsc\files here... Or it wont work.... Well I did the above, and it didnt work! So there goes my theory.... So I uploaded my new zip file with the correct structure as mentioned above, and unzipped it to Moodle in my course files section. I then added a SCORM activity on the course page and when choosing the SCORM activity I wanted to use instead of selecting the SCORM file (ZIP) I navigated to the newly unzipped files and selected imsmanifest.xml file. Hey Presto it worked!
  11. For info: Fatal error: Call to a member function get() on a non-object in /home/edumood/public_html/edugeek/DD Simple/templates/rhuk_milkyway/index.php on line 23 perhaps it doesnt like the space 'DD Simple/'
  12. So i presume I upload the zip extract and away i go?
  13. Just installed Moodle 2.0 Dev build and I like it alot! Not sure when its due for release but seen one or two posts which seem to hint towards April-ish time (Perhaps in time for the Moot?). One thing which i like is a much improved WYSIWG Editor, the current WYSIWYG Editor is really dated and i think was abandoned by the people developing it so didnt ever move forward. Also, seems to be a number of 'easy' ways to link to external file respositories like Moodle-to-Moodle, WebDav, Flickr, Alfresco etc... Finally, Conditional Activities, the ability to create activities with a set of criteria setting out when and how the activity is displayed to students. E.g. # Web Resource Two is visible to the student but blocked. they can’t access it until they view Web Resource One # Once they have viewed both Web Resources a Topic Quiz will appear as if by magic. Obviously a lot of other combinations can be created. Im sure there are plenty of other things to be found out, anyone who wants to take a look at Moodle 2.0 drop me a PM and ill give you access to my install.
  14. I know were all looking forward to BETT next week but anyone planning to attend the UK MoodleMoot in April (Easter Hols) at Loughborough Uni?
  15. May i suggest that if you have recently setup Moodle, which reading your posts it looks like you have, your default role for 'all logged on users' will be Authenticated Users. This is the default setting and works quite well as it allows you to have a specific user of the front page who has different permissions that the 'Student' role on the front page. I like to keep the Student and Teacher roles as Course specific and use the Authenticated User role for Front Page, Blogs, etc.... Personal preference i supposse.....
  16. Im using Moodle 1.8, and the zip file works fine. Perhaps somebody having problems could point us to a link where i can view one of the SCROM packages your having difficulties with? Upload to the 'Site Files' and provide a direct link then I can take a look?

  18. Here's how i do it: My Moodle has the SCORM/AICC module installed which i think is a default activity in Moodle. Click drop down - Add an Activity..... - Select SCORM/AICC Fill in the Name and give it a Summary Then in the Package Folder box click 'Choose or Upload a file', from here select the zipped up SCORM package that you might had uploaded previously to 'Files' or browse to your hard drive and locate the zip file. Usually the SCORM files are quite large so i usually FTP to the file server and upload to the relevant folder - Much quicker! Choose your zip file and thats about it, apart from choosing your grading method, number of attempts etc...
  19. I need to convert some text in a table into an image: Example: I have the text "Achived" in a cell I want to convert that to "trafficlightG.jpg" I was hoping i could do something like this in css, hiding the text and using background-image, but it has a class used throught the site and i cannot amend the class otherwise it will effect areas that I dont want it to. However the text "Achived" will only appear once, so if i could target the text somehow....
  20. Did you restart the E-portal service? And are you editing the correct files, try adding some basic code to the page and see if that appears.
  21. I'm going, will be going down on Wednesday night (driving) and staying for Thursday, Friday and Saturday.....
  22. OK, while im installing SQL 2005 could someone please offer me some advice on my server 2003 setup. I've installed Server 2003 on Vmware and installed all the service packs and security updates, as well as .net 2.0 & 3.0, and also Application Server. I've Start -> Run -> dcpromo Created the domain with all default settings, my question concerns the following IP address settings..... I think they are correct: IP: 192.168.1.68 Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0 Default Gateway: 192.168.1.254 (Same default gateway as the host pc) Preferred DNS server: 127.0.0.1 Anyone see any problems with this? Im also going to do the whol install as the Administrator account, which i presume shouldnt be a problem for a small scale test enviroment and one the wont be hosting Project Server?
  23. I've been asked by a friend to look into the use of Sharepoint, think he plans to use it in his business. Im a Moodle man so have no idea of how to go about instaling/setting up Sharepoint. I've got vmware installed and a copy of Sharepoint 2007 all ready to do. Can anyone give me any pointers?
  24. Is there a peiece of software out there that can monitor a mysql database and give some kind of output as to what changes have been made? Ideally I would like it to output the changes that have been made in a query, like mysqldump does when i do a dump. Anyone know of anything?
