other thing to think about is if someone messages the account and says "can I have all the info you have on me" or similar

How about something like anydesk or teamviewer? I don't think the monthly sub is too much.

Yep a +1 for swapping the keyboards out. You’ll just end up getting called to the room every day when all of the kb/mice are in front of the wrong monitor and there’s ghosts moving the cursor.

ah yes sorry we licence the whole of KS3 and then only pupils who need it in KS4 & 5. The licence quote says 100+ so you might get away with 100.

You'd be better off going to the per user licencing. We pay less than £4 per year per user.

I'd say AppLocker rather than AppV and LAPS are both essential these days. Also if you are not fully W10 yet then maybe looking at your deployment solution might be a good development. I'd like to think most would just change the iso for every release and then pxe the deployment these days. Also I assume from your post your 365 is through HWB - they have Intune/Endpoint Manager available now so that might be a good option.

We went through this process a few years ago. Fairly straight forward but there will definitely need to be input from IT Support. Part of the process involves creating a e-safety group within the school with pupils and staff and that will need an IT representative and also on the assessment day the assessor will want to have a meeting where they ask about how you secure your systems/filtering/prevent/firewalls etc. Upon completion you get a nice plaque for reception and a badge to put on your website.
