Is it possible to be able to minimise the screen, our exam laptops are used as both computer readers and writers for some students. Currently there is no way for them to go back to the exam paper that is being read.

Just tested again and it is now saving on exit. Not quite sure why it wasn't a minute ago.

On the new version, if you save after the candidate details box and then click save again it fills in the filename box with the file path. Also, on exit it asks if you want to save and it now just exits without saving.

If you set 'SavePromptAfterCandidateInfoScreenOnLaunch' to 1 it brings up the save box but doesnt actually save the file.

Thanks We updated some of the graphics drivers yesterday and couldn't get them to blue screen anymore but this morning we have had another load of blue screens on the updated PCs. Now trying the USB 3 drivers.

All 120 of ours are having BSOD problems. It seems to be when the PC boots it gets to the login screen then BSOD it doesnt happen every boot though and sometimes it does it a few times before people can log in. I have done a memory test on one of them and that passed 12 tests so that one at least is ruled out. We are having mainly Memory management 0x1a, NTFS file system 0x24 and Page fault in nonpaged area 0x50 BSODs.

Have you had any luck with finding out what is causing the BSOD? Our zoostorm's are doing exactly the same.

Did you ever solve this we now have the same problem?

We have a number of PCs using keyspan serial adapters and haven't had any complaints that they are lagging. They seem to work alot better than the USB boards.

Sadly the registry change hasn't worked. Checked a few boards this morning and they aren't connecting to the PCs when they first boot up.

Thanks, the setting was rolled out yesterday so fingers crossed boards work monday morning. We have 5.11 on a couple of the USB boards as we upgraded while troubleshooting, but this didn't help with the problem.

Do you know how to set this setting via group policy?

The power supplies are already plugged in as well as the USB. We are using driver 5.7 as 5.9 and 5.11 wouldn't work with our serial boards.

Does anyone know where you can get serial cables for 2nd generation activboards? We replaced our computers over the summer and they keep dropping the connection to the boards. We have tried Activ extenders and the recomended usb extender kit but both drop connections during lessons. We have managed to solve this by using the serial connectors rather than usb, but we dont have enough serial cables for the amount of boards we are having problems with. From looking at the Promethean website they are part number CB-5303027S31.

i havent recived any confirmation, i used my home address rather than my work address is this why?

We swapped one of our boards back from USB to serial yesterday and its been working fine since. Looks like we will be swapping the non working ones back to serial as you can get a longer cable length with them.

We have tried some PCs with a 5m cable straight from the board to the PC. Some are working fine, while others sometimes work and sometimes just drop out. We have also tried Activ 5m extension cables going straight to the board but these keep dropping the connection. 2 weeks ago I put in a Superbooster USB Extender which is what promethean reccomends but this morning it has stopped working.

Did you ever solve the problem with the zoostorm PCs? Ours have the same problem on our promethean boards and moving the computers closer to use a 2m cable isn't an option.
