I'll add a vote for Frog - it does all that for us. Happy to talk to anyone who wants to see it in action

Hi all, I'm guessing everyone is still having this issue!

Has anyone managed to get this bug fixed yet?

How do you send your assessment reports (electronic) home?
bligh001g replied to spkay's topic in MIS Systems
We use Frog for reports. Really easy - just run the extractor and they are all then ready for parents to view. We also send out a Frog message to the parent app which alerts them. Also helps us as we can track who has actually read the report, unlike most other systems we looked at. They are also very good at helping with it - we had reports that were not on the MIS but still needed to send them out, so we reached out and they made us a tool to do that.- 13 replies

Homework solutions for schools
bligh001g replied to lavanyashetty848's topic in Virtual Learning Platforms
We use Frog here. It's very well embedded, averages around 2.5k log ins per day (we have around 1800 kids). We do all homework setting, full department revision sites etc. It's more than just a homework tool for us. It also means we avoid having multiple platforms for the kids which always ends in confusion! A friend of mine works in another school who uses Google Classroom and they have started to have to buy add ons to do what they need to do. Seems like Google are catching on! -
Look at Frog first .... then stop. They do everything you need. We’ve been using it for 9 years and some at Trust level too.

Hi all, we use Frog at our school. We've used it for about 8 years. It's transformed the way we do stuff - and integrates with our GSuite and Office 365 if you use that. The best thing to probably do is to watch these videos on our website, which outlines how we are using Frog for our home learning for Y10 at the moment: https://www.greenshaw.co.uk/information/school-life/home-learning/year-10-home-learning

Does anyone have a cloud storage policy? Or something in other policies that references using cloud storage?
-
A lot of our schools have suffered from bodging up over the years .. plus most have a dual system with network drives, Google Drive etc. We want a simple system to start with which isn't a replica of the current bodge jobs!

Hi all, So our Trust is opening a brand new school in Sep 2020... how would you go about the network set up? The most minimal yet functional set up possible? I'm thinking def. cloud based, but what about on site stuff?

Hi all - does anyone know a good place to source school pips sounds from? (The sounds that play at lesson changeover) We are looking for a new sound! Thanks

Hi all, we are looking at this now but 2 questions from my network manager if anyone can help?! How often does it sync? Is it doing live updates and what impact will that have on our internal bandwidth? Does it impact the computer resources? I’ve copied and pasted these from an email so not sure what the last one means?! Thanks

Comparing VLEs, give me your pros and cons...
bligh001g replied to mrbios's topic in Virtual Learning Platforms
We've had Frog at my school for about 6 years and it's very well adopted. We tend to set homework through it and use department sites the most. Really easy to maintain for staff and students like the new mobile app which has been launched. Parents can see everything to do with their child too, I'd recommend it. Happy to give you a demo log in if you PM me. -
We have had Frog for about 6 years but have started pushing parental engagement over the past 2 years or so. Works really well for us, in terms of pulling SIMS data. Parental feedback has been great with behaviour, attendance and SIMS Linked Docs all displaying nicely for them to access. Lots of parents use it on their phone and the themes in Frog scale down nicely to allow this. Everything seems to work well!

Hi all, We are hanging on with Frog for room bookings. They are looking at it currently, so it won't be too long before they have MIS integration in there, and external calendar integration either. We don't want to buy into another system when we don't need to.

We use Frog heavily - feel free to drop me a PM for my email if you want to chat

Hi all, We use our Frog VLE for this. All our homework is set and communicated to students/parents through the platform as we use it for nearly everything else in the school already. We were looking at SMH a few years go, but didn't want to bring another product into the school that Frog could do for us. The homework setting tools are really powerful and they also link with Google Drive if you are using that in school too.

We are using Frog. It's the best one for us as the tools are superb in terms of student progress tracking. Great integration with Google Docs too.

Frog Learn hangs when we have multiple logins
bligh001g replied to backwellschool's topic in Virtual Learning Platforms
Hi Nick, Have you spoken to someone at Frog recently? They've always been pretty snappy at handling requests that will have an effect on your platform like this one does. You might want to try this Self Service portal they have, you can view your tickets and the status of them: https://servicedesk.frogeducation.com/servicedesk/ Hope this helps, George -
We have been using Frog for approx 5 years now and are very satisfied with the current direction and progression of the product. We have gone through the transition of Frog3 to FrogLearn (FrogOS) and are looking at getting Frog3 turned off very soon so we can solely focus on the newer platform. I took on the role of iLearning Co-ordinator in 2012 and have built Frog up to be a platform we heavily rely on in school as it holds all department resources, staff information including cover, Year 8's submit their option choices through it and the creation of Frog 'Sites' really helps students outside of lessons revise and learn, especially A Level students in their free periods. That is just a taste of what we do but of course, there is much more to it. I think lots of schools now are claiming that VLE's are 'old technology' and 'not relevant' but this really isn't the case with Frog. They have done a good job of creating tablet versions and iPad/Android apps to genuinely make life easier. For example, our teachers love the FrogSnap app as you can instantly send an image/video/audio clip from your phone/tablet onto the Frog platform for students and parents to see. Setting homework is a breeze and so is managing it from a head of department/SLT point of view. There is a monitor app which allows them to see which homework teachers are setting and the quality of it too. Overall, we have made Frog critical here and if we turned it off tomorrow then it would have a massive effect.

Hi all, First post on here so hello! We would like to launch Dropbox across our school and eventually replace the school network with it. Has anyone else has experience of doing this? If so, what are the legal, logistical and technical advice you would offer? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks
