When we've come up against this sort of scenario, we've used AirServer on the machine connected to the projector and screen, and then had the person presenting AirPlay over whatever they're doing from the device in front of them. We're on Windows 7 at the moment so we can currently only do this from Apple devices, but I understand we should be able to Chromecast / Miracast when we upgrade to Windows 10.

We use Ipevo ZiggiHD visualisers. They're good resolution, and fairly cheap (£60-70ish), but I wouldn't recommend them. The positionable arm tends to break at the joints, because of people picking them up irresponsibly. We've had a lot more interest / excitement by installing AirServer on classroom PCs allowing teachers to cast with school iPads / personal iPhones.

We have ours hosted externally as part of our support contract, despite us having free hosting with our ISP. Not my choice, I would have taken advantage of free ISP hosting, but it makes it someone else's problem. Here's a bit of light relief for you though... A few years back we ran into a school hosting it's website internally, on an old laptop, sat in the bottom of a network cabinet! It ran like a dog, and the laptop itself was red hot to the touch. Don't do that!

Hi Rhys, Not sure I follow - what exactly isn't working for you? From inference, I'm guessing you're not getting DHCP to your WiFi VLAN? When you say you've got all traffic routed through the firewall, do you mean you're using it as your Layer 3 switch to route betwen VLANs? How are your other VLANs getting DHCP? We don't have ours VLAN'd off, but if I did I'd have my own L3 switch to do it rather than rely on the LGfL firewall, which under current limitations doesn't sound capable. Either that, or you'll have to stick all of your APs on static IP addresses. The only problems we had with our LGfL firewall is we did need to open up a bunch of ports to allow APs to communicate with HiveManager online, but we got there in the end.

I have a batch of a dozen balanced speakers going free to a good home. Phonics 20W Monitor speakers SEp207 They're a bit grubby, but working. Mounting brackets included. Individual mains + single XLR connection on each. Should work fine with three pin balanced inputs, will not work well with standard 3.5mm stereo jack, which is why I'm replacing them. Nah, we don't use USO for domain logons, I'm logging on with domain admin credentials. They're not passed through, I'm prompted for them on connection like this. I never actually see the RDP full screen until after logon. Another place you could look is in the settings of your RDP client. On your source PC off site, on Remote Desktop Client, click show options and check under Advanced tab. Under the Connect from Anywhere options there is a whole bunch of stuff about gateways, and one of the drop downs does have Smart Card options.

Only other thoughts are that it might take a reboot to disable the Smart Card prompt, or has the user got Smart Card Required box ticked on their AD account(Account tab | Account Options)?

Yeah, my smart card options are currently undefined, looking at the setting the default is disabled anyway. Those settings aren't necessarily required for RDP via RAv3, they're just the only settings I have that aren't still on the defaults. Tbh, I couldn't tell you what some of them do off the top of my head, I didn't set up this box.

I assume this behavior is via remote access only, and it works fine locally? I'm RDPing to Server 2012 R2 via RAv3 without any difficulty... here are my settings if it's any help! I've got 2 x original 15A cartridges for sale. They have been opened and a few pages printed, but otherwise sound. I replaced the cartridge in our aging HP LJ1200 twice as was printing feint, but turned out to be the printer not the cartridges! Selling for £10 each (£40ish retail), collection North London, or add postage.

Definitely using the "Return to old look" link at the bottom of the page, underneath the grey "Configure Settings" button? Strange, that goes through on mine and gives me a tabbed view with more options, rather than the new tiles view. Your guess is as good as mine in that case!

I don't think this is to do with them changing the licensing model, but they have changed the layout. Under System Manager | MDM | Add devices, try "Return to old look", a small hyperlink at the bottom. I can access my Apple Configurator url there.

P/N PRM-32-35 Lamp for Promethean PRM-32 or PRM-35 DLP projector. Box opened, but unused. £20 I've had this lamp on the shelf for a while, believing it was a viable spare for our last Promethean projector, but apparently it isn't!

I wonder how long before they start deprecating the SM Free 100 accounts the same way that they've done the original free unlimited accounts? I'm signed up fine, but if they stop keeping up with new iOS features, that's going to be an issue. I really like Meraki, but I'm not sure I could justify paying for it if it came to it :/

Latest update on this one, just been trying routing the connection through a USB2 hub, with the logic that the board talks to the USB2 controller from the hub, rather than the USB3 controller on the PC. It worked for three days straight last week, and I allowed my hopes to get up... nope. Happening loads this morning! So that was a USB2 hub, into a USB2 port on the PC, with a 3m cable direct to the board controller. With latest drivers and latest firmware. Still hasn't resolved the issue. Can anyone offer any further advice on this one? The only other thing I can think of at this point is fitting USB2 PCI-E cards, which would be far from ideal (not to mention a pain to find these days).

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but I found this one while trying to get Circulate to stay unlocked on the new PCs I've just put in our Libraries. The tick box "Unlock Circulate" is a per user option via Cookies, as I found out when the fix only worked for one person. If you want to unlock Circulate for a machine, you need to install the Hardware Plugin, "ieplugin.exe", as described here http://documentation.microlib.co.uk/jl.net/plugin.pdf. It says it's only required for external hardware such as Identikit and says nothing about Circulate, but seems to enable that also!

Yeah, I think it treats reservations as part of the configuration, not the main database. I don't have any documentation to hand, but reading around, it is expected behaviour - https://community.spiceworks.com/topic/454940-server-2012-r2-dhcp-failover-replication

What part of the DHCP scope is it that isn't replicating? If it's reservations and scope options, then this isn't automatic in Server 2012, it only does the address leases I think. I came up on the same problem here when I added a bunch of reservations and wondered why only half of them took!

Yup, updated directly from Intel, no change. This was a few months back, but doubt they've made any breakthroughs since then. BIOS has on or off options for USB ports, nothing more than that. My next hope is a USB2 hub, which is being ordered as we speak hopefully!

Just checked back on my test machine, and even though it is running through a USB2 port on that machine, it is still having the error, I guess as it's still running off a USB3 controller. Running on something older that runs a USB2 controller does work, I have one board running that way. Not really a workable solution for the others though!

Oh cool - I'm hopefully placing a parts order in the next week or so, so I'll chuck one in the basket. If all I have to do is stick a £10 USB2 box between board and PC I could live with that!

Well, on further investigation turns out I was running into a USB3 port on my test case PC. I've moved that over to a USB2 port, perhaps the combination of USB2 port and USB2 repeater cable will be enough, I'll have to monitor it over the next few days. Suspect it probably won't though, as I assume I've still got a USB3 controller running my USB2 ports, and that's where the misunderstanding lies? I have BIOS options to disable USB3 ports, but I doubt this is going to downgrade my USB3 controller, just nobble the ports...
