who manages the security and protection of the network, you or her? you, its not her call, if teachers where able to manage a network correctly, there would be no need for any of us to support and run it for them. Students killing impero? block task manager, they had the opportunity, classroom management has failed. we step in to make it safe. Instead, how about a step in between? maybe like a virtual box, with say deepfreeze on? off the network obviously? Just because "its easier if X" is not a good enough excuse when we are talking about steps to protect data, yours, hers, and the students. i know i sound like an arse here, but i really winds me up when teachers stop being teachers and start to think they are network admins/managers.

sounds like the DMI of the board was never filled by your vendor. we used the app from How to change the DMI information on a Stone NT303 or NT307 Notebook - Stone Computers :: Knowledgebase this app is aimed at stone machines, but i have managed to use it on diffrent vendors. (though i really wouldnt recommend that unless you dont mind bricking the unit) im sure your motherboard vendor will have a simalar tool.

Yes Paul, I managed to get the Scratch2 MSI to deploy using SCCM. No it doesnt include Air, but i was able to make an SCCM package that executed the Air installer with "Adobe AIR Installer.exe -silent -eulaAccepted" Once both where on the test collection, scratch was able to fire up fine.

we have a simalar system. annoys me know end when i have machines returned and they have stuck their timetables all over it... just more crap i have to peel off. additionally we did have all laptops here, with docking stations in each room. worked well for the first few years... then the laptops / docking stations EOL .. leaving us with a mix mash of docking stations and laptops... not compatible with each other... Yes i know there are USB docking stations, but the video playback on the serveral we tested... sucked. In the end we added workstations in each room. best choice and very popular. staff members no longer need to carry the issued laptop about with them.

Ran though this on a test network( almost a clone of our live), imo its not worth the hassle. (2012 functional level). and yes we have a exchange 2013 server. Glad it was a test network as we just shrugged it off, and wiped it. Only issue i can forsee in the near future is SSL certificates have stopped being issued to .locals / .internals etc.
