Sorry to hear you are having issues, we work with and offer a product called iboss. It is a patented layered stream based technology that does not use or rely on a proxy server to filter content. It has an optional firewall that can integrate with the system as well as Layer 7 application filtering. You could implement HIKVision hybrid DVR units - which can be viewed remotely and can be set-up so select users have different rights. They can vary in size, from 4TB's to 16TB (going up in increments of 4). You would require POE switches for the IP cameras, but the total amount of Hybrid units will be determined by the split of IP & analogue cameras you have. I've come across Mirasys software before, it seems very good but I've not looked into it.

Hello, The school can license CALs either through the number of devices or through the number of users accessing the server, it depends on whatever is most cost effective for you. User CALs tend to be more popular as most users want to access software through multiple devices now. However device CALs would be better if, for example, you had a number of computers specifically designated for the users - it might be less expensive to use device CALs. Hope this helps. Christine

Good Morning, There are multiple MDM options available, it completely depends what features are important for your School. Meraki and iboss are very good MDM solutions, we have trialled them ourselves and helped Schools implement them. iboss are currently more Apple focused, however the Android function will be released shortly. Unfortunately it look's like its a feature of Windows 8.1, so I don't think you can get rid of the process. As mentioned above, you could turn off the animation, it would just mean the user has a blank screen (for the same period of time). Completely agree with @fairm010 about waiting - hopefully Microsoft will announce a Windows 10 release date in April.

Hi , We work with a School who used to have Life Channel, they moved away because it was too expensive for what they were getting. They decided to wall-mount screens with desktop PCs behind them (Rasberry Pi's would definitely work too). They then purchased a digital signage solution, which allowed them to create their own content, allowing them to promote the School and activities etc. I know you were looking for feedback but just wanted to give you our second-hand experience. Do both locations need to share the same sets or files? Or, for example, does Site A want to access the servers in Site B (and vice versa)? We have solutions that could meet both scenarios, PM me if you’d like to discuss.
