We too have had issues with printing, but currently use GPP and item level targeting which seems to work 90% of the time. It might be worth keeping an eye on Paper Cuts latest development 'Print Deploy' essentially you install the queue on a reference machine and run a script which imports them to paper cut and you can then deploy to a specific IP Range or User Group to machines which have a client running on them. I have asked Paper Cut's support if they are planning on intergrating with AD to allow applying printers to specific OU's and the feature has been raised with their development team.

We really enjoyed going out to the Windmills, traditional cheese & clogg factories and museums at Zaanse Schans (dezaanseschans.nl/en). It is really easy to get to on the train just head out to Zaandijk and either walk or jump on one of the bike taxis

I don't think there is a easy way to specify different settings for different users. I think the way would be to have two separate upload template XML files, one for staff and one for students, set up and specify additional attributes from AD. But you would need these on AD First. Also you'd have to be careful with the deleteion/suspension policy. I am not sure how that would work? It could be that you use a Google account that only has permission to create accounts in specific OU's on GAFE. One for staff and one for pupil creation.

Yes! Bane of my life too! Main issue is the updates from WSUS. The kids were just forcing them to shut down or just closing the lids when ever windows was trying to install them on start up/shut down so we never knew what state they would be in. We have resorted now to stopping windows installing them automatically and have a tech who once a month starts them all up, logs in and installs them as we had no better ideas. It's a pain but we do also get to check them for broken keys that we otherwise wouldn't be told about.

We have also found that Drive is a good place for staff to store them files that they think they might need but haven't touched in 5 years and are taking up storage on the LAN. Take advantage of Googles free storage

As you are new to Google apps for Ed, I would say introduce your staff to Google Classroom from the outset. We were a Google school before Classroom came along so a lot of our staff were very much used to setting up a folder and sharing it and some created Google sites for their classes etc. Don't forget though to set your Classroom settings to 'Verified teachers only' so the students can't create classes. As you mentioned Google Drive great for storage and also a good 'go between' the iPad and your LAN. However if they are shared iPads you will have to educate staff and students to make sure they log out of the Google Drive App at the end of the lesson, which is oddly named 'Remove' (under Manage accounts > Edit > Remove)
