  1. So now i am getting this: the server sslfilter.userproxy.swgfl.org.uk:8080 requires a username and password. you cant type in the box only cancel then it comes up with unable to connect to the network
  2. So I am after a bit of help. Really getting ticked off with Fusion 360at the minute!! I have installed it for our Only It teacher and it works for me as an admin. its a local install (not sccm) I have added the various websites to the "bypass proxy settings" for teachers, then forced a gp update to/on the machine he uses. i'm not sure if it takes the changes though as he doesnt have access past "settings" in chrome When our It teacher logs in and loads the software, he gets a username and password box appear, he cant type anything in it, if you cancel it comes up with check network connections. currently thinking its a firewall issue but not too sure how to change it. as in if i log into the pc locally as admin would it keep the change for other users?
  3. We use Hesk, and created a new Subject/Category called Reprographics. Any reprographics stuff get put into a ticket and it works well for us
  4. Should have been watching on Friday night, they were shaking quite a bit as over 900 earthquakes in 12 hours was quite impressive!
  5. fixed, we found a setting within our SWGfL youtube settings of which we have 3 REstricted, Mostly Restricted and Unrestricted. Our Staff Policy was set to Mostly Restricted. so changed it to Unrestricted and all working. Thanks for the suggestions though
  6. We have had 2 members of staff one wanting to watch a live youtube stream and the other wanting to watch a live recording of an event on youtube and both get a message saying 'network administrator restrictions'. We have checked their google accounts and restricted mode is off i have added the url to our SWGfL staff list (Youtube isnt filtered for staff). works fine for me as an admin (i guess it would) so i am thinking its a group policy somewhere but cant find anything to do with Youtube and the google Chrome Group policy is huge. I does the same for Edge too. Anyone Else had this and if so what settings in Group Policy did you change. Thanks
  7. we use Lyreco, get a box fill it up and arrange collection. we have filled 4 boxes up in 2 days with the amount we had stored!
  8. yep ours takes about 9 hours and runs overnight, However Edulink have (i am sure you know) added a couple features for updating Docs and contacts and that sync only takes 10 mins (ish)
  9. When ever i create a new collection in SCCM and assign the Task Sequence and programs/applications they dont install. Any programs and applications sit on "Waiting to Install" or "Waiting to Download". i have looked at another Collection created by someone else and check it with mine they are the same yet mine fails the other one installs. If i delete everything apart from Task Sequence and then add programs individually they install. Spent all day trying to figure this out and getting just fed up with it not working. any advice or suggestions are welcome. Thanks
  10. Occasional gaming, Nature and Landscape Photography. Walk the dog. Recently starting to get back into Model Railways. have a smallish board with track but have started to use free software to make a decent plan then build it. downside to this is cost, UK N gauge scale is not as cheap as it used to be!!
  11. Thanks for the advice, One thing, If the staff in question uses multiple rooms does this need doing just once or on those other pcs?
  12. Hi, This is an odd one! We have 1 user who is getting a few issues with Office 2021. She logs into the pc fine and then opens either word or powerpoint etc but after a day or so she has licensing issues. We have found that when she logs into office here at school its using her personal Office 365 license and not our business license. We can clear the office sign ins but this isnt the answer. We have checked groups etc and and that all looks fine, we have looked at another member of staff account to see if anything was different and its not. Any suggestions would be welcome
  13. Like other have said, Mosyle have been great for us, helping set it up in the beginning and then the odd occasion we have contacted them have been very helpful
  14. We had something similar a couple years ago, got out the company who we pay a support contract with and they ended up replacing the camera. was an internal one too!
  15. Danish Poppy from the garden this morning
  16. Yeah all seems ok now, there were permissions which were not set correctly on the user's Home Folder/Drive and there were 2 Home Folders for the same user! We deleted both and recreated then copied the work back and Yesterday all went ok. I think it was a permissions thing as i couldn't find the Sims folder it creates in either of the old home folders. Oddly printing was fine but its one to remember Many thanks for the pointers, i certainly didn't expect the home folder issue or the permissions to be to different and wrong!
  17. again good call i didnt think of the printer!
  18. sounds similar to a member of staff here having the Pc either log her back out or the screen go black when she logs in or uses Sims. (i have a thread for my issue as i have run out of ideas. Only thing i noticed was permissions on the home drive/folders were set incorrectly for our user. setting them correctly later this morning. We also found our user had 2 home folders! so deleting both and recreating too. So i would maybe try permissions or check any group policy which might be running after log on, also Antivirus? might be worth checking the pc in question for when updates are installed or run.
  19. good shout, i looked yesterday and found the home folders to be not set with correct permissions. (only been like it for 3 years!!) so will look at changing them this morning. Also there was 2 home drives for the same user so another oddity!
  20. I am at a loss as to what might be going on with one User/pc. Basically We have replaced a pc in our Exams office (not the Exams Officer thankfully!) and when a particular User logs on the Pc screen will go black. We figured this out to be a dodgy graphics card so we have replaced the Pc again with a brand new one. Now when the user logs in the screen is usually ok but as soon as Sims is loaded the screen will either go black (and you have to crash the pc for it to come back to life) or it will log the user out and back to the Login screen. We have deleted the local User Profile and looked at the Event Viewer but there seems to be nothing that gives us a point in the right direction. Also an addition, if the PC is logged in as the User who haves the issues but someone else logs into Sims it seems Fine.
  21. This might help also, https://get-help-with-tech.education.gov.uk/devices/guide-to-resetting-windows-laptops-and-tablets/unlock-recovery-mode

  24. We have a HP Deskjet 6940 printer in one of our art room which I think has died. From the beginning, Over the Christmas holidays we had a couple power outages, first day back various things not on etc, no problems as such. This printer was working then stopped a couple days later, colour Ink was out. (or so I thought) fine changed it and it worked for a couple days then the cartridge light started flashing again. I thought this was odd as although the printer is in an art room they don't use it very often. Now the fun starts, I logged in to the pc and had to stop and start the print service in order to clear the print queue, nothing I haven't done before, but the printer still refused to print, I phoned our supplier and got a replacement cartridge out and installed it and it worked for a day then back to the same, flashing cartridge light. Logged back in to clear the print queue and the printer was using (DOT4USB) drivers, (Windows Update) I had a look online and found that several people had issues using these drivers and had to use ones which come with their devices. HP's website points to windows update for this printer and I cant find the hp drivers for it anywhere. Also we have installed it on a different pc and its doing the same but now goes offline straight away when trying to print, if anyone has any ideas on if this is fixable it would be appreciated. One thing, I know will be a question is which os are we on, currently W7,
