Storage wise, get more than 1 for each use case for the love of god! 1 Drive failure and you're up s*** creek, Get 2 for the OS and run in RAID 1, then at least 3 for VMs and RAID 5. (will get speed boosts depending on raid also)

Got it working... had to create a couple of firewall rules to allow port 8880 to the controller along with moving it before the block all rule! Cheers for help

Testing on windows i get directed to the IP:8880/guest..... But says a network change was detected and doesnt load... Been looking at the firewall and saw was a deny from the guest VLAN for input to the GW but shouldnt matter as only it does allow dhcp and dns (dhcp works as picks up IP). Tried adding in a rule for anything from guest network can talk to the Unifi Controller but still no dice If i take the guest portal URL it does work on our main network just not the guest....

I did put in subnets of all 3 to try and no luck but will test again now made a few more changes! Was unsure if it was the FW that was blocking the traffic to it but cant any rules blocking it

Unsure as cant find the Hotspot portal URL. I can't ping the GW or UniFI key. It's the same VLAN as our current guest network which is working fine

Morning All, Have an annoying issue, trying to get a guest portal up and running on our UniFi system. Have created the SSID as Open and then told it to use Hotspot manager. But when i connect on my phone i don't get redirected to the landing page for a voucher? but i am on the right network as the IP is in correct range. I've tried turning off secure portal and HTTPs redirection but no luck!

We use a Mac mini M1, you can get them for under £400 on refurb sites. If you explain clearly why you need one, currently using a 14 year old machine should be proof enough! on top of how many iPads you have. Throw in data protection issues if not as wont be able to manage new devices!

Depends on workload, 4K footage is a beast to edit. Even with 64GB of RAM scratch disk soon fills up. Ideally id stick it all on a NAS as easier to control access data limits of users etc. Did this in last place with Macs and Logic files. But is the more expensive of the options! plus factoring in wiring if needed.

We do that here, but Adobe recommends a 10Gb connection to the NAS so have to throw in all the 10Gb NICs and switch also! If you're doing 4k Footage on a NAS a 1Gb line will not do
