You need a vlan-capable network environment (router and switches, or even an Edgerouter X, which has a vlan-aware switch chip) the APs alone are only the last network devices before the clients.

The fan switch can respond to changes in engine coolant temperature, providing circuit switching during a predetermined temperature range allowing fan operation.

As for the fist question, just remember that the transceiver you use must be compatible wth your switch. HP brand won't accept the Brocade brand but the HPE 534FLR compatible transceiver, or you can try the generic transceivers with all brands: http://www.fs.com/c/generic-10g-sfp-plus-1413

They are LC connectors. As for the transceiver, it depends on the speed and distance you need, any Netgear compatible modules will be ok for you. I have used Netgear compatible SFP module from fs.com many times and never had any issues. Hope it helps.

Any great suppliers to recommend to buy SFP+ modules?

I recently got a USW-8 and have been toying around with it, and I got an SFP module to connect to my Edgerouter, to test it out. Its a Deltaco SFP-C0002 which is stated to be Cisco GLC-T compatible. The switch identifies it correctly when I look at the info on the SFP 1 port, and if I plug in my router, or a computer, I get a link, but no traffic seems to be transmitted. I know from other posts that SFP adapters can be finicky, but I expected the switch to tell me the adapter was "Unknown" or "Incompatible" or somthing like that if it didn't work. Is my above scenario the expected result of an SFP adapter that won't work with the switch?

Optical fiber cables have a really good bandwidth and are way better than electrical cables. Do you think it's possible in the near future for all these electrical standards like USB, PCIe, SATA etc. to be replaced by optical standards and cables?

We've been using Fiberstore compatible transceivers in our Extreme switches and they always work great as switches report them as "official" when checking the transceiver status. If you're looking for low cost and 100% compatible transceivers, I recommend this Extreme 10051.
