I have read this. But as I mentioned we are using Windows 7 Pro. It would cause chaos if we moved to windows 8! Holding out for 9/10 whatever it is next. Matt
-
Its unsupported.. doesn't work on windows 7 enterprise. I could spend a couple minutes listing more but thats enough in my books!

Windows 7 pro although I'm slowly moving to enterprise. Yup a nice 0% The network manager has been buying zoo storm machines. Which are pretty basic so say the least. I have said however for future purchases that we make sure they have Tpm modules. So we will see what happens. To be honest I think if we want to save money it's going to be a case of just replacing old true crypt machines with new ones that have Tom modules. Or I'm going to need to spend some money... If I was to spend money on this do we have any suggestions to put out there? Matt

Is that a centrally managed solution? Or is it something I need to do on each machine? Matt

Evening folks, I have started a new post at a school... Been here about 4 months... Now we use Trucrypt for desktop and laptop encryption... Now instant reply was BITLOCKER... Then i cried when I found out that a total of 0% of the hardware on site has TPM chips installed.... So now I am looking at possible alternatives... What does anyone know about a centrally managed preferably cheap solution for Drive encryption. I need something that preferably I can just leave and it encrypts the machines on its own. Hope someones got something for me. Matt

Evening folks... I am planning a migration to office 365... I have been asked to create some help guides on office 365 for staff. Also including a nice overview on all the changes that staff with get when we migrate.. like how it benefits the school ect.. Now this is a long shot, but I don't really want to spend my time re-inventing the wheel so i wondered if anyone had already got some help guides that they would be willing to share so I can edit them for my school? Otherwise ill just haft to start from scratch. Thanks in advance Matthew

We have been looking into this but we had to go back to 200R2.. ADFS 3.0 requires a Server 2012R2 domain controller.

Ok, Forgive my ignorance on this. Basically I am trying to get planned a new 2 node Hyper V cluster. The 2 nodes will have each; Dell R820 64 cores 256GB RAM Quad NIC Redudent PSU And a SAN:12 x 900GB 10SAS - dell MD3220i ISCSI SAN So now my question is... Obviously the nodes have 4 network ports on them with the quad NIC... Now do I need to do scenario 1 or 2.... 1) Vlan 3 of the ports per server connecting them to a switch, with the ISCSI san going into the same switch. - Use the last remaining port for network traffic... 2) Get a ISCSI card which I can connect the 2 nodes to the SAN directly and then use the 4 ports for general network traffic. Look forward to your inputs. Matthew

Afternoon, I have recently purchased a new backup server. Its a R710 with 8 drives @ 900GB each. My idea is to raid all the drives in raid 5... which I have done & to install server 2012R2. Now I am trying to create 2 partitions... I have a total of 5.8TB and when i start the windows server 2012r2 installation and create a partition of 120GB for the OS it then creates 4 partitions.. I get my 120gb partition, a 400mb partition and then the weird bit... I get one 2.4 tb partition and another 3.4TB partition. So I am really confused as to why this is happening.. All I want is all my drives in raid 5 with 2 partitions, one for data and the other for the OS... Am i going about this the wrong way? ANy help would be great.. Matt
