Thanks for the tips! The teacher suggested join.me, as recommended by someone else. But reflector looks more fit for purpose.

Afternoon ladies and gents! We have a new pupil coming to school who is short sighted. Does anyone have any recommendations for some software to mirror what's on the teachers IWB to an ipad or laptop? Preferably an iPad? Thanks very much!
-
Thanks Pete, good to know!

Thanks guys, I'm not sure which accents yet as that spec i gave you was the spec I received! I'll try windows out and see how that goes on, but might need something a little more robust, so will go with dragon if that's the case.
-
No we will give it a go, it's a school I support but I only visit once a week and got the message via support ticket, so i'll give it a go with the student/SENCO. Just wondered if anyone else had done this and found any pitfalls.
-
Hi, Been asked to source some software for a disabled student, software that will allow the student to dictate. The SENCO has said it needs to be "accurate" and "deal with accents". Anyone any recommendations on this? I have come across one solution, called Dragon Education Solutions. Apologies if this is in the wrong thread/section, i'm not really sure where to put it.

Self employed. Invoice going in as normal!

I'm going try and see if I can put a bet on them to score points!

Manor running well with that merc engine! Let's see them score points in Australia! I do love an underdog.
-
I really don't think you'll be tell. If no one had said anything, would you even think they are louder? I doubt it. It's a failed attempt really, like the trumpet exhaust they merc trailed last year.
-
Maybe the more inefficient engines will be louder if they are using the waste gate more? Need to compare this years honda to last year..
-
So much for them being louder.. The new design is the waste gate having it's own separate blow off. Except these hybrid engines make use of the waste gas to drive a turbine so the waste gate is hardly used. Still, i think the gap between the mercs and the ferrari should be lot closer so hoping for some good racing there.

Ubiquiti Unifi in a secondary school environment
Patrick replied to DrCheese's topic in Wireless Networks
I do have one Unifi AP that stops broadcasting. The lights on are on but no ones home. Rebooting it solves it. I'm going to swap it out for a spare and RMA it. I think mines faulty. -
Intel Play Qx3 Microscope Windows 7 32bit drivers

Same. I binned a few when we went 64bit in school. -
Chris Harris is the only decent one. When Evans tanks it over the next year or two he should be the lead.

Yeah i know to set it just keeps reverting back, so i need to upgrade activeinspire. But i want to see if they adopt the new software first.

It isn't a moot point really, seems as tax is non transferable and an old car might only last 1 month before the gearbox fails etc... I'm not trying to get in an money saving argument i'm just saying it surely is an issue.
-
Do you get stung with tax on your older cars?

I'm think i remember them saying if you ask they can bring a board in on a stand to demo it? May have made that up though. The software is pretty nice and works well with the board. One to note, we used to have ActivInspire on the laptops as we had Promethean boards. Now, some staff want to carry on using ActivInspire, but sometimes the software picks up the pen as the select tool only. It's really frustrating, not manged to find time to find a solution for that yet. Perhaps a software update will do it. I know you said you were a Smart School but just thought i'd mention it.
-
That's correct but we've never used it like that. I wouldn't bother with it unless your staff will actually use it. Things to consider with these displays are viewing angles and size difference, from a large IWB. The software they are shipped with is a a bit like smart notebook, it can also open and modify smart notebook and activinspire.

Got two AlphaInteractive screens in one of my schools. They are pretty nice, nice and responsive. One teacher moans that sometimes the Android option comes on instead of the computers output. The other teacher with the exact same model has no such issue. It's a PICNIC (problem in chair, not in computer) issue.

Fiesta ST in Race Red! I love this car so much, so much fun and plenty of power (close to 200ps on overboost) to chuck it about! Except when i lost control in the ice at 10mph on Saturday and and damaged my track rod end. Still, being a fast ford it costs £50 for parts and labour.
