In my case it's different then. We've gone from having three people running a viglen network of 250 PC's to a Vanilla network with me and 500 PC's!!

Don't forget if you use a third party company, you will be paying a premium for support. We moved to a vanilla network 4 years ago after I recommended it and now save the school c£10k PA just on support. Oh and moving across really isn't that bad. Yes its change, but there's always Edugeek!

How do you set them by GP? Do they save their favourites, and they are still there when they log back in?

Not sure that will work with Mandatory profiles though?

We have a vanilla XP Pro network with Server 2003 here, and Mandatory profiles for staff and students. I was wondering, does anyone know how to 'enable' favourites for users? We've had a vanilla for nearly 4 years now and it's only just come up! I did suggest just copying and pasting the url and saving somewhere else, but apparently that's too much hassle.

What I tend to do is look in the shop then have a look online to see if it is cheaper. But if its electrical goods, John Lewis is good because they give you a five year gurantee.

Ha ha. Easyjet?! That's too good for me. Ryanair is much cheaper.

Am I being extremely thick here, but how do I disable access to a server via creating a shortcut? They need to be able to create shortcuts. For example a student can create a shortcut to \\server2, and see it although most access is restricted. How do I stop that?
